The home inspector provided a report of inaccurate information. The inspector stated in his report that all window wells were bolted down and no egress ladder in basement bedroom. However, there are only two windows in the basement bedroom and the inspector missed the egress ladder in the window but reported it as a safety issue in the final report. When the inspector was addressed about this erroneous error, he stated ," Oh,I must have missed that". Inspector stated that retaining walls needed to be built and stamped by a state engineer. However, county building department regulations states, "all retaining walls over 3 feet high require a stamped engineer approval". All retaining walls on the property were less than 3 feet tall. However, it was reported in his final inspection report as a safety issue. Apparently, he does not know how to measure in feet. The inspector also stated the handrail on front porch was not attached properly. However, handrail is attached with factory supplied TREX handrail accessories and was installed according to manufacturers installation guidelines. Another item that was erroneously reported as a safety issue. I would not use this inspector or recommend for any work in the future.

I met Tracy at a farmers market. I had intended to get an energy audit done, and he does them, is certified with the state, and told me about rebates available. He coached me through that process. He came out and spent several hours taking pictures and doing tests. He came back on 9/30 with a CD of the pictures and his report, which we went over. He was very thorough. Some things I can do myself, others I will need to hire someone to do.
