TERRIBLE! This was one of the worst experiences that I've ever had. Tam (who could speak English when it was time to get paid, but couldn't speak English when I complained about the shoddy work) contracted to weed and fertilize lawn and gardens, treat with weed killer, plant and relocate shrubs, trim shrubs and remove debris for $2500.00. I purchased about $800 worth of plants and shrubs in addition to paying him $2500.00. If he put down weed killer on the lawn, it was totally ineffective since not one weed was killed. He moved shrubs and planted shrubs to replace shrubs which had died. He didn't bother to remove the dead shrubs, and planted the new shrubs either adjacent to or on top of the dead shrubs. He didn't remove all of the dead branches, leaves, debris in the shrub beds. When I complained, he said that he'd have to charge me extra and that they would kill healthy parts of the shrubs since they did not use hand tools and would only use a hedge trimmer. His excuse for not removing the dead branches, shrubs, etc. was that I had not specifically requested that he remove the dead stuff before he planted over it. He also said that if the dead parts were removed, the shrub beds would look bare. He doesn't know a thing about planting. He didn't use compost nor any kind of soil enhancer, and planted the shrubs so recklessly that many of the root b**** were ABOVE ground or the shrub was placed so deeply into the ground that that the crown barely appeared. Many of my shrubs and bushes died. On top of this mess, he spread mulch to hide the damage. He lacerated parts of my drip lines which cost me $400 to repair. When I specifically asked him to check the drip lines to ensure they were working and placed on/near the new plantings, he assured me that they were. In fact, they were not working and contributed to the death of many of the shrubs since I relied on his assurances that the drip lines were set and the plants would be watered frequently. Weeds were everywhere in the primary garden bed. His excuse to me was that the new weeds grew back within the two weeks since he had finished the job and when he met me to discuss my complaints. After I spent 45 minutes going over the problems, he goes stupid and doesn't understand what the problems are. After making excuses for the weeds, and reasons why he didn't remove the dead shrubs, branches, leaves, etc. he decided that there were no weeds, dead branches, or shrubs. He refused to return any part of the fee I was charged. I consulted with a master gardener in the aftermath, and not only did she REFUSE to help me because the damage was so massive and she didn't have the resources, but the cost would have been $5000 or greater. RUN do not walk from this guy.
