The original day of installation they re-pulled the large Kitchen slab out to “trim” one side, then brought it back in only to find that the Sink hole was mis-cut. Additionally, one of the smaller slabs front edge was cut short from the other front edges. So all pieces were removed and taken back to the shop to be re-worked. They offered to replace everything in only 3 days, so GREAT turn-around time, but when the replacement slabs came back, the sink-base cabinet’s side wall and front cracked while re-setting the large slab. (The Cabinet installers were able to discretely mend, thankfully) Holes for the faucet and Soap dispenser were drilled about 1.5-2” back from sink edge. The smaller slabs across the kitchen were then set. Later we noticed, the small slabs were askew and the seam was TERRIBLY noticeable. On the third visit, installers came to re-do the seam and adjust the smaller slabs. They defended the poor seam color as result from not having a white colorant to mix into the material the day before - still, I want contractors to arrive my job with all materials needed to do the job right... Remember the faucet and Soap Dispenser holes that were drilled? Well, the faucet was smoothly installed but the bottle to the Soap Dispenser beneath the sink can’t be screwed in because heavy metal bracing used to hold up the sink (my previous home with quartz didn’t have such bracing to hold the sink) is blocking the bottle! If the holes had been drilled an inch further back the bottle would’ve cleared. Grrrr, so try explaining why the Soap Dispenser isn’t operative when we go to sell this home… Anyway, I texted the owner to see if the braces could be moved to the sides of the sink, or removed entirely – we just needed to trouble-shoot with him (he was paid in full at the installation of the counters of course) but found that we are blocked from the phone number and no response from the second phone number. Just thought if they had installed hundreds of sinks this may have come up in the past. It’s been a few months but now we see a “fission” in the quartz – it’s almost like a pencil line that is growing beneath the quartz, sigh. Due to stress between the walls, we don’t know. While they did some things very “right” when all was said and done, we don’t wish this experience and frustration on anyone else.

I'll start by saying that while we had more than our share of problems, Ed worked with us to find solutions, and that we're satisfied with the finished product. I do, however, think the problems could have been avoided with better attention to detail.

For our kitchen remodel, we kept our original custom cabinets while replacing everything else. I got several quotes on counters, and Ed was the most helpful over the phone, and came in with the lowest cost so the decision was easy. We purchased a sink that was exactly what we wanted, and we believed would fit, and had it ready when he came out to do the template to be certain. He spent quite a while explaining their process and advantages, measured and took the sink with him, scheduling the installation a little over a week later. This is where things started to go South.

His crew arrived on time and started the work; we had the demolition completed before their arrival. However, the under-mount sink could not be mounted because it was too deep. Our cabinets had an indentation below the false drawers that hadn't been noticed during the template, but the installer told me it was my contractors responsibility to modify the cabinets. This obviously didn't sit well with me and Ed was contacted by phone. Luckily, my contractor was there at the time, and he made some modifications to the space, but it still wasn't going to fit without extensive work. Unfortunately, the hole for the sink had already been cut, so the options were to get another slab or find a sink that would fit the hole and not be too deep. He said he would search and get back to me in a few hours. Several hours passed, so we called back. There was no update, and my wife made clear that this was unacceptable, in rather colorful terms.

Basically we discovered that there isn't a sink that would fit the hole and only option would be to have a custom sink made for about twice the cost of the sink we had purchased. Ed offered to split the cost with us, and it would take about 2 weeks to have it built. He brought over a temporary countertop to set on the cabinet, which we appreciated.

The sink maker used our sink to template the new one, and Ed agreed to get it back to me in time to return it. When it was returned to us, however, the bag was ripped and dirty and the outer sound-dampening coating had been completely scratched off in places- it was still functional, but it was a new product when I bought it, and it was no longer in condition for me to return it. When I reached out, he agreed to trade me sinks and call it even.

When the day finally came, the sink fit (thank goodness) and while it wasn't quite as smooth as the one we had initially purchased, we were certainly happy with it. There was a gap between the countertop and the wall on one side- the installer blamed our walls, but the cut was clearly off by a couple millimeters. I knew that once the backsplash went in, it wouldn't be visible anyway so I didn't make a big deal about it. They left, but when my wife came home she wasn't happy with the seam (it may have shifted when they cut out the cooktop space), but they came out the following day to re-do it.

So...while it wasn't always smooth, we have nice new countertops that we're happy with. If our cabinets hadn't been custom, it probably would have been smooth sailing, but with all the issues, the best I can do is a and quot;Cand quot;.

It went really well. They were pretty right on with the timeline of things. We were pleased with the granite choice, and the installation of granite. Matt, Kyle, and Steve were professional, polite, good craftsmen and cleaned up too! There was hardly any dust at all and (we had this job completed in the winter). Happy with the communication with Ed and Karen (the owners). Great to work with them. They left when I was happy and we are happy with our new countertops!

They were fantastic to work with from start to finish. I like working with a smaller operation and Ed really knew what he was talking about. He saved me money by pointing me away from certain quartz name brand that only cost more. From the date that I picked out my surface, they were installed 10 days later!

They were fine. I had them do some extra work over the Big Deal. I had a counter top that dropped and I put some shims under it to level it. They came out to seal the joint and they did a great job. I had them polish some marble as well and I would use them again.

I was very pleased with this company. Every step was performed on time and done with a polite and professional approach. The installers were courteous and did a great job. The price was in the middle of the range of bids I received and my primary reason for choosing them was their reputation, which they lived up to. There were no surprises in the entire process which is very important to me and there were no last minute surprise add-on charges as some in this business try to pull. I paid the exact price I was quoted from the very beginning. In all honesty, I had one phone call that was not returned and a couple of emails that went into a junk email box, but in the case of the emails, they were ferretted out and I did get responses, albeit a day or two later. I would recommend this company and I plan to use them again in the future.

I contacted by phone.  Ed told me to go to granite yard and pick out the desired granite.  I did that.  He picked up the granite and fabricated it.  Less than 2 weeks from phone call to completed install.  Price was $1500+ less than Home Depot.  Turn around at another carpet store competitor that also installs granite was 8 weeks.  We were totally impressed with Stone Works.  Our counters look just fantastic.

They showed up more less on time but I would say that what they did was not what I expected. Basically all they did was wipe on some stuff and wipe it off so it was way less involved and way less thorough than I thought it would be.

Two nice guys showed up exactly on time.  They were very pleasant - they cleaned years of grime off the backsplash of my granite and cleaned entirely the kitchen and a bathroom.  They were very courteous and did a great job.

We found this company on Angies List.  Karen and Ed were a delight to work with.  They know their trade well and they run a professional shop.  Great price, great communication, on time, on budget, and excellent results.

Two very courteous young men came and cleaned and sealed my granite. I asked them if they wore footies over their shoes so he would not walk on my carpet.  He said they didn't but he would be happy to take off his shoes--which he did.
They did a great job.  However, I believe I will be able to do this myself in the future.  It didn't take very much product and the products used weren't anything I couldn't purchase myself.  However, the company was great.

Showed up on time and performed service.  I have never sealed surfaces in 13 years as original home owner.  I can only assume service will offer protection promised.  Hard to tell any change in surface areas.  However, provider was professional, punctual, and informative.

It went very well - the countertops looked great (he took a lot of time cleaning up the residue from when the countertops were installed) and he had great suggestions on how to keep them clean.

Working with Stone Works was a positive experience from start to finish.  Owner Ed Aldrich paid attention to detail and was patient helping us understand the process and options available.  Ed and his crew worked well together and  left everything neat and clean. We liked the place we visited to see  the large slabs of quartz chosen for our project.

What a great experience and end result! Ed's wife Karen contacted me after I bought the Big Deal, and we made the appointment right then. Today was the day of the appointment, and Ed called about 1.5 hours beforehand and said he was running ahead of schedule, and would it be OK if he came early. I said yes, and he arrived about 25 minutes later. He left just minutes after the original appointment's start time. We have 95 sq. ft. of granite counter top and Travertine backsplash in the kitchen, and he deep cleaned it all and sealed it in one hour. It looks brand new again--gorgeous! When Ed finished in the kitchen, he discussed what we should do to correctly mainten the marble and Travertine so as to ensure that the sealant lasts as long as possible (3-5 years for the type of granite we have). Afterwards, I asked him to look at the other stonework in the house and let me know if any of it needed to be sealed. He went through with me and it turns out that none of the other stonework needs sealing. I couldn't be more pleased with the service, professionalism, price, and friendliness of both Ed and Karen; I highly recommend Stone Works Marble And Granite!

He was prompt. He was offering a deal for a clean and polishes. We had some other edging that needed to be addressed, so there was additional work. They were here a little over 3 hours. I would recommend them.

Ed was very personable and professional. He answered all of my questions and kept me informed throughout the process. I had three estimates and Ed's pricing was fair. He and his crew removed my old counters on a Wednesday and new granite was installed on a Thursday. Ed and one of his guys came to my home a week prior to installation and prepared a template. Then they did the fabricating work in Ed's shop. They sealed the granite when they were done, then cleaned and vacuumed the area. Ed also ordered a beautiful sink that I selected and coordinated a plumber to instalI it. I recommend Ed and his team to anyone needing granite counter tops.

This was a great experience.  I moved to Broomfield 2 weeks ago and found this company on Angie's List.  Ed the owner was very involved during the entire process.  I had granite installed in my house 9 days after the day of the initial quote.  All the men that worked in my house were very professional.  They were also very neat and tidy.  I would absolutely recommend Stone Works Marble and Granite and use them again!

My father and I visited their shop to see how they worked.  I was impressed because it is a small shop, and every effort was made to show me how to make wise choices in terms of getting what I wanted at a reasonable price.  I selected an in-house verde granite remnant for my father's vanity, and I was given the choice of several granite warehouses from which to select my kitchen countertop.  A solid, firm price was provided by Stoneworks Marble & Granite depending on the grade of granite chosen--there weren't any hidden fees for demolition, edging, etc. These folks are honest!  I chose a beautiful piece, let SMG know about it, the date I would be available for installation, and the name and email address of my plumber.  Home Depot was horrible and messed up the deliveries of the special orders for my faucets, but SMG worked with me throughout all of the changes.  The best part was the installation!  They were timely and came out with a crew of four men.  They didn't stop until it was perfect, and they left everything spotless.  Even more importantly, it was a class job:  the stone was cut in one piece per countertop, and they selected the showiest pieces of the granite.  I have two beautiful countertops as a result.  SMG is fantastic!  If I ever need any stonework again, I'm heading back to Tennyson Street!
