Sales is at a warehouse where irregular carpet is sold. Brody was our salesman and was very informative and patient thru out the process. This was a no-pressure sales situation. After deciding on a carpet they will unroll it and show you the irregularities which are either in color or pattern and do not affect quality. Frankly without them pointing out the irregularity we would not have seen it. Installation was thru Damon and was top-notch. He was punctual, professional and polite. Several weeks later and we are very happy with our purchase. And the savings are substantial.

We were selling our home and needed to replace the carpet in one bedroom that was approx 10 x 12.  We needed to replace the carpet quickly and keep to a budget.  This was the perfect solution.  I spoke to Scott in advance to explain the project.  He gave me an estimate over the phone.  Most companies won't provide a rough estimate over the phone and insist on having someone come and measure the room and then try to sell you.  Scott took my measurements over the phone and gave me a rough estimate (which is all I needed at that point).  He set an appointment with me at 7am for the next morning.  I met him at the docks of the whole sale warehouse.  The warehouse was very clean and organized.  We sat down at his fold out table at the back of the warehouse.  He pulled out samples from his reminent inventory to keep my cost down.  He explained for a project this small that he wouldn't need to have anyone measure it in advance and that they would measure and install at the same time since the roll of carpet would be big enough to cover it.  He quoted me the final price and I paid Sloanes a portion for the carpet and he explained I would pay the installer separately, but that it would be the price he had quoted me.  The installer called me within 2 days to schedule the appointment the very next week.   The install went exactly as described and I paid the subcontractor directly - and it was the exact price I was quoted.  
I don't know that I would do an entire house from Sloane's - but it was the perfect solution for a smaller project.  I have a rental property as well and will be calling Sloans when it's time to replace the carpet.

They don't have a showroom. They got us in contact with a subcontractor to do the installation.

We needed to purchase carpet for our entire house. My son and his wife recommended Sloane's Carpet Secret, where they had bought carpet for their home a few years ago. Sloane's carries a very limited variety of factory seconds with nearly invisible defects. The selection is limited, but the prices are terrific.
Sloane's is located in a warehouse, and customers enter through a dock. Since my son and daughter-in-law had done business with them previously, they knew just where to go. When we entered, several customers were looking at the carpet samples which are prominently displayed, with their prices. Cookies and cold water are available for anyone who wants some. Sales personnel are readily available but not intrusive. When we were ready to talk about carpet, we were immediately waited on. Our salesperson knew everything about the available carpet, both its price, its quality, and the amount that was available. Since we needed a rather large amount, she brought us samples for which there's a large amount in stock.
My daughter-in-law laughingly says that she has become a "carpet snob". All of our questions were answered to our satisfaction, and we found a carpet that was the same price, or a little less, as what we had been looking at at the big box store, but double or triple the quality. We arranged purchase and installation without difficulty. We were shown the actual carpet, which had (as already disclosed) a tiny, essentially invisible flaw.
The carpet has subsequently been installed, and we couldn't be more pleased.
Pros: price and quality
There are no cons if you realize what this business is. There isn't a vast selection, and there isn't a fancy showroom. But if like me you appreciate quality at a bargain, this might be the place for you.

The rep showed me several samples and then I inspected the roll I purchased. An installer came to measure the area and the company credited to me the overage that I had purchased.
