One of the most responsive vendors I have contacted. Called me back within 24 hours of the initial call. Scheduled the time to walk through the facility. He arrived on time. Provided estimate within 24 hours of the walk through. He called to make sure I had received bid, I hope Randy wins the bid. I plan to use him for all future painting in Denver and surrounding areas.
Description of Work: I work for a national company, I called this vendor off Angie's list to provide estimate.

It was a pleasure to have Randy in the house. He is very amiable, and eager to offer advice or solutions for renovation obstacles you are encountering. He has a very steady hand for cutting in lines, good equipment, and experienced ideas on how to progress. His bid was the lowest and his work was absolutely quality. Hire this guy. You will not be sorry!
Description of Work: Painted all 3 of our 16 foot walls, primed and painted all dark wood trim, downstairs and upstairs hallways, prepped and painted ceilings and painted 2 bedrooms.

They were very good. I found them through the Better Business Bureau. The price was excellent. He was more than half of anybody else and he did a more than adequate job. The guy was quick. The price was dirt cheap in comparison to everybody else. I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: I used RLE Painting to paint the inside of our apartment.

The contractor brought pine wood chips with various colors of stain for my selection. I choose a color that I judged to be complementary with the wood wall paneling in the room. When the stain was applied and wiped off, the resultant coloring was lighter than the samples. Also the stain was not wiped off consistently several close joints on the door absorbed stain and appeared much darker than the flat part of the wood frame. This was pointed out the contractor and he did additional work to clean off the stain residue from these areas. I caught this problem as he was beginning to apply polyurethane sealer to the window frame. Had I not caught this problem, the polyurethane sealer would have been applied over the stain blemishes and could have no longer been easily corrected. The resulting job was a disappointment. The stain color was too light and the stain did not go on evenly.
Description of Work: This contractor stained and sealed the interior frame of a 13 X 7 Ft. 4-panel sliding glass door set. The interior frame and trim of the door set was new, bare pine wood, with the exterior clad in aluminum. The stain was oil-based and the sealer was two-coats of satin polyurethane.

Response from RLE Painting & Decorating
While I am sorry that the member was unhappy He does not realize that not all pieces of wood are the same and will not take stain equally, Or that sanding as he recommends would leave scratch marks that the stain will emphasize. The client also insisted on procedures contrary to my standard which again affected the outcome. If he had just trusted the expert instead of thinking that he was one he would not have had any issues with me I am sure. I always try, and almost always succeed in leaving my customers happy. Please don't let some one who thinks they know more about the trade which I have been practicing for many years and he has not, ruin your opinion of a good contractor who takes pride in his work. This is my only experience with Angie's list. I am sad that one person who was already unhappy before I got to his job could ruin it. So Give me a fair chance that this poor fellow did not.
