The main guy from RTC performing the work at our house was Scott. He was really great. Not only was he a nice, kindly person, it was obvious from his work and his conversation that he was very experienced with tiling. (He was also quite knowledgeable about sink and toilet installation -- he gave us a few useful pointers as we, the homeowners, had decided to perform these tasks ourselves.) There were lots of tricky cuts Scott had to make to the tiles, including a diagonal edge where tile ended and carpet began, cutting a U-shape around at least one door frame, cutting around an in-floor water valve, cutting out notches for our toilet flanges (which had been improperly installed by the home builder), and places where the walls were not straight. After grouting and cleaning, Scott also replaced the baseboards and caulked them. The tiling job, including removal of carpet, linoleum and baseboards, and replacing baseboards once the tile was up, took eight days, with Scott working all of these, and another fellow (Richard) helping out a day and a half. Another man from Restoration Technologies (Dan) came on a different day to tuck the carpet down where it met the tile, which was the last finishing touch. We were very pleased with the quality of work RTC did and especially their attention to small details.
