The resizing was a disaster. While we were advised that heating the ring during sizing could cause the jade to crack, I expected that they would have the professional ability and desire to do everything in their power to keep this from happening. They did not remove the jade from the ring which I would have expected a professional would do. I don't think they used heat sinks to keep the heat from traveling to the jade. But the real cause of the damage to the jade was that the mounting surface warped and split the jade in two. My wife picked it up and was unable to inspect it before she left but they did not point out that they had broken the jade. She discovered the damage later in the day and was devastated and angry that they did not at least apologize for the damage. In fact I believe that attempted to conceal it. In my opinion this only highlights their lack of professional conduct. I purchased this ring in Hong Kong as a gift to my wife and am very disappointed that Purvis was so careless with it.As for the appraisal, they didn't put the ring on their and quot;appraisal listand quot; and therefor it was not appraised.

I had a watch battery replaced and they offered a complimentary ring cleaning while I waited. The battery was initially more than I had expected to pay at $15, but that does include lifetime warranty so in the end it seems like a bargain. Very responsive, professional staff and welcoming atmosphere. Not at all stuffy or somewhat condescending as one can find at some jewelry stores. I plan to use them again whenever the need arises.

PURVIS JEWLERS BUYS ITS' DIAMONDS FROM A SUPPLIER. WHEN A CUSTOMER MAKES A PURCHASE THE ON-SITE APPRAISER APPRAISES THE JEWELRY AND GIVE THE INFO THE CUSTOMER FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES. OF COURSE I DID NOT KNOW ANY OF THIS WHEN I RECEIVED THE EARRINGS AS A GIFT. WHEN THE APPRAISER SAID HE WOULD DO AN APPRAISAL I THOUGHT 'YEA RIGHT! YOU'LL LET ME KNOW IF I'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF!' AS IT TURNS OUT THE DIAMONDS THEY SOLD MY HUSBAND WERE UNDER WEIGHT AND QUALITY. PURVIS CONTACTED THE SUPPLIER, ORDERED AND REPLACED THE DIAMONDS AT NO EXTRA COST TO US! I WAS SO IMPRESSED!!! I WILL ONLY SHOP FOR JEWELRY FROM NOW ON AT PURVIS JEWLERS INC.
