We purchased carpet that we were told is made by Dixie Home mills in Georgia and sold as a stain master carpet and the best rubber pad sold by ProSource for our family room and stairs.
The invoice states that we purchased Dixie Home Heatherfield #2794 color 46005 Pearl Drops 100% BCF Stainmaster Luxerell Nylon carpet for close to twenty-nine dollars a square yard.
When we tried to get information concerning the warranty it became a nightmare dealing with ProSource.
On the ProSource web page, they state the following. Our buying power nets you the lowest possible prices. Guaranteed. If we can't beat any local authorized competitor's written quote on first-quality, non-closeout merchandise, we'll give you $100. Guaranteed.
When we contacted Dixie Home Mills, they do not list the carpet that we purchased as a carpet that they make under the name Dixie Home Heatherfield #2794 color 46005 Pearl Drops.
This makes it impossible to know if we paid a fair price for the carpet and it makes it impossible to challenge their price guarantee and know the true quality of the carpet .
When I questioned ProSource about this, I received this e-mail. Ron , I would be happy to give you warranty information or anything you need. Trust me , we haven't been in business 20 plus years and operate the number one franchise store by swindling retail customers out of a 53 yard purchase. Give be a break.
Please call to discuss.

I still do not know if I received a fair deal from ProSource or not but I do know that when a customer has concerns about a product they should not be told to give the owner of the company a break. If everything was above board and the product was labeled with the correct information that could be verified by the manufacturer, the customer would not have to write letters like this one.

On the recommendation of my installer (found through Angie's List), I ordered carpet and premium pad for three bedrooms and my family room from ProSource of Denver. The carpet is wool and was very expensive. We were told the carpet were wear like iron. Within two weeks, it began to crush and mat in areas of high traffic.
I contacted our sales associate, Erin Vaughan, who ignored my email. After a week, I finally reached her by phone. Erin responded that an inspector from the carpet mill would come to my house to take a look. The inspector never called or came despite six weeks of repeated assurances from Erin that one would.
Erin then offered to have ProSource pay for an independent inspector to come to our house. I agreed and was told I would be contacted within a week. At the end of the week, I called the independent inspector myself only to find out Erin had lied and had never contacted him.
We paid (at a cost of $175) for the independent inspector to come to our house. He told me that while this type of carpet will crush and mat, it should not do so for 6-12 months ( and definitely not within the two weeks I experienced). The report he wrote was confusing in its summation and caused us to lose our credit card dispute with ProSource.
This has been a miserable three months of horrible costumer service from ProSource of Denver, and we are now stuck with incredibly costly carpet which is already showing significant wear. ProSource of Denver will not stand behind the products it sells.

The quality of work was really good. We got a good price on the materials. The reps at the store were great.

The ResistA warranty stated that the carpet would resist abrasive wear for 10 years. I have owned the ResistA Soft Expression Premium carpet for over a year now, and even though my family does not wear shoes in the house, the ResistA carpet is already showing unusually heavy wear at the entrances of the bedrooms and the bathrooms. My carpeted stairs are also showing excessive year. I have had the carpet professionally cleaned as required by the warranty, but the professional cleaning did not improve the carpet?s appearance. I would not recommend ProSource of Denver as a place to purchase carpet. In retrospect, I feel that I would have been better off purchasing the Mohawk Carpet at Home Depot for less money and a 15 year warranty period.
