"CUSTOMER – [removed member name] ON 5-17-13 CUSTOMER MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 6-4-13 TO START UP THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AT [removed member name] NEW HOUSE, [removed member address] NOTE IN FILE- ANY MAJOR REPAIRS PLEASE RESCHEDULE JOB COMPLETED 6-4-13 ON 6-5-13 A COMPLAINT/CONCERN WAS REPORTED TO ANGIES LIST. ON 5-29-13 AN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE TO START UP THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AT 4326 SHOSHONE JOB COMPLETED 6-17-13. RECEIVED FINAL PAYMENT 6-19-13. ALL WORK HAS BEEN PAID FOR. ON 6-11-13 RECEIVED ANGIES LIST NOTIFICATION CALLED CUSTOMER ON 6-24-13 TO RESOLVE ISSUE AND LEFT A MESSAGE TO PLEASE CALL US BACK. NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER."
This company seems to do good work, but their constant tardiness is very inconsiderate and frustrating. It's bad enough that they won't make an appointment and instead schedule a window like the cable company. It's worse that they don't call you when they are running behind. Moreover, when you call their office, you never get a live person. You always get an answering machine and therefore can't find out when the technician will arrive. Piper apparently thinks its time is more valuable than its customers'. This company used to get good reviews. I hope Piper reads all the recent reviews complaining about tardiness and gets its act together.
"On 7/6/2010 Piper was contacted by The Member to diagnose a sprinkler zone stuck on and one that did not work. We sent a technician the same day and found wiring issues, bad gate valves and a zone valve that needed located requiring more time then available that day, we rescheduled with extra time to complete the job. On 7/12/10 we returned and replaced the gate valves, located and repaired wiring issues on zone one and tested zone 4, at that time The Member indicated he did not want the master valve wired up, our Technician did a wire splice on the existing wire let The Member know that his controller was not responding properly and should be replaced. The sprinkler system is not up to industry standards and The Member didn’t seem to want to bring the system up to standards. On 8/2/10 The Member called and reported his system was down, we responded the same day and our technician discovered additional wiring problems and that the sprinkler controller needed to be replaced, we returned with extra time on 8/4/10 to troubleshoot the wiring at which time we replaced the wiring from the controller to the valve box above ground per The Member using member supplied materials. The Member indicated he was going to replace the controller himself and our technician labeled the wiring for The Member and told him he would be happy to “stop by” if he ran into problems. On 8/12/10 The Member called and requested the technician stop by to check the wiring as the system would not run. The new controller required a master valve wire and we now had to run wire for the master valve the Member requested we not replace back in July. Piper Sprinkler makes every effort to address a customers needs and make the necessary repairs the most cost effective way possible. When dealing with a sub-standard system multiple issues can arise when repairs are made to one area another may react. We tried to resolve this with The Member and he felt that we should supply our service at no charge for an issue that we pointed out back in July. We worked at time and material for The Member on all return visits with no service call and made one return call at no charge. Customer Service is first with Piper Sprinkler however we cannot supply our expertise or services for free."
"The sprinkler control boxes installed by Piper Sprinkler are commercial grade controllers not "homeowner grade" as sold in the big box stores. The difference between the two is substantial; Piper Sprinklers concern is that the home owner in this case appeared to be unaware of the price of the control box. Our technician's are required to quote every homeowner parts needed prior to installation and the technician has been put on probation for this oversight. Customer satisfaction is number one at Piper Sprinkler and we believe strongly in customer communication as many of our customers will attest. We encourage all clients to call and speak with our office regarding pricing/billing issues and stand by our products and workmanship."
