Brakes were adjusted with excessive toe-in and not enough brake lever travel. The excessive toe-in which was at least 1/8 inch and was so excessive that only a portion of the rear brake pads would contact the wheel rim when applying the brakes. This resulted in greatly increased stopping distance and more lever force required to slow the bike. The brakes actually worked quite well before the 'professional' tune-up and they were unsafe afterwards. When I explained to one of their 'techs' that if I needed to make a quick stop when traveling at 20 mph, I could be killed. The tech thought about that and then said I might not be killed. So there is quite an attitude going on there. Safety and training of staff do not seem very important.
After the headset was serviced, they did not return the handlebar stem to the height it was previously set at. I attempted to make that adjustment at home, but they had torqued the stem bolt so tight, I could not break it loose. I returned to their shop and asked them to do it and they also struggled to break it loose and used a variety of tools before they were able to break loose the over-torqued bolt which they had tightened during the 'professional' tune-up.
In the process of re-setting the stem height, I watch them decide to adjust the handle bar angle even though there was no problem with it. Their adjustment resulted in the handlebar coming loose the next day during a ride although I maintained control of the bike and then fixed it with tools in my bike trunk bag.
They also lost the dust cover for the brake cable and could not find another one that fits properly.
They also left the seat twisted off-center which was another adjustment I made later.
Wheel truing was good. Gear shifting was improved but not a 'professional' level of adjustment.
