I feel ripped off - I was way overcharged for parts. I queried it at the time and was told, no that's normal.
For example:
- master switch for window, I was charged $146, they're available for $50: http://www.switchdoctor.net/subaru-outback-window-switch/subaru-outback-master-power-window-switch-2000-2004.html?gclid=CMrRv5e01bcCFc8WMgodWmsACA
- oxygen sensor, I was charged $162, they are $35: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search/?N=0&Nr=AND(wpn_tl_name:Engine+%26+Drivetrain,wpn_cat_name:Oxygen+Sensors+%26+Components,wpn_scat_name:Oxygen+Sensors,part:Oxygen+Sensor)
I expect there to be some kind of markup on parts bought from a garage, but this is not right.
Both my left and right window controls broke at the same time. He said that my had wife told him to just fix the left window and not the right one, but she had said to fix both. Even if this is some kind of communication mixup - why wouldn't he question that before I picked it up? Who would only want windows on one side of their car to work? Not very professional. I asked about what needed to be done, the mechanic (seemed like a straight-talker) said its a quick fix, just need to do some wiring, but the owner said it was more complicated, might need another switch. Obviously someone was wrong - if he didn't know, he should just have said so.
I was going to replace the CV axle, he said $139 for each of the CV joints, they're $54: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Subaru/Impreza/Replacement/Axle_Assembly/2000/ARBS507102.html?apwcid=productads&003=27846857&010=apwARBS5071022000suimaxas&gclid=COukod-21bcCFYhAMgodWG8AHA
On the plus side, it was done quickly and the work seems to be OK so far. Bit of a pain that my right window remains unusable though.

Very honest and didn't perform needless maintenance on my truck. He was a straight shooter who looked at the situation and advised good/better/best options and did so for a good price.
In the future of my vehicle needs any major maintenance work done I'll definitely give him strong consideration.

They were very friendly, nice, and made an appointment and gave me a ride home. They do good work, but they did take a little longer than they anticipated.
