These guys really don't know what they're doing.
I had to go to the State Extension office, finally, to find out why I had so many developing dead spots in my lawn .
Naturalawn kept sending out youngsters to look at my lawn and apply something to help,
although NOT ONCE did they actually take any samples or even look under the turf, or employ any REAL analysis.
Basically they just looked at the lawn and threw out any guess that came to mind.
Every guess of their's was wrong.
They are way over priced for what you actually get in the way of expertise,
and willingness on their part to do problem solving.

I trusted them to TAKE CARE of my lawn,
and they failed.

My neighborhood yard man does a better job, and for a lower price.

"We have no record of doing any work at Coleen Lyon at 3605 St. Paul Street in 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012. She must have us mistaken with another company. We have asked Angie’s List to remove this posting. Steve Deits Owner"

Please see notes above.  I'm not convinced that it was worth hiring them.  I'm doing my own fertilizing now, and feel that I have better control of product use and quality to do the work myself.

"On April 9, 2012, I had a good conversation with the client which revolved around correcting some of the factual information contained in his first posting of April 5, 2012. I thank him for following up and reposting that day. One thing I forgot to mention to him is back in 2001 that the treatment price was $41 rather than $60. The client's comments that “they come and go within maybe five minutes or less”. At times it seams like it does not take very long because we invest in equipment, products and personal necessary to be the most efficient and thorough as possible. He was a pesticide free customer. We found insects in his lawn which needed to be treated. After receiving permission to treat the insects, we made three additional service calls to treat the insects at no additional cost to him. We also recommended to the client, that his lawn could use an overseeding in the fall to help fill in the insect damage areas. He scheduled the overseeding and we performed the services in the fall. One additional service we do for our customers is to rate the lawn on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best). In spring of 2001, we rated the lawn “4”. By the end of the year, his lawn had a “8” rating which was very good considering the insect damage prior in the year."

NaturalLawn came out and gave the estimate, we agreed and we started service.  We'd had several applications, but then a problem arose when a technician applied (I assume by mistake) weed killer to our 1-2' tall aspen saplings.  I called to complain, and they came out the next day to check.  I was not home when they were there, but when I called later they said, "They will probably be ok." At that point, I stopped the service.  It is now about 2 months later, and 2 of 5 have died so far.  My husband had flagged them so they would not be mowed, so they even had markers.
Unfortunately, the lawn did not look well this summer either.  It could be due to dryness/or the fact that organic matter takes awhile to begin to work well.  But overall, I would not use this service again.

"From Steve Deits, Owner. I believe I left paperwork at the member's home asking her to call me should the aspen tree suckers not respond as I had hoped. I called and left messages several times for the member and have not received a return phone call as of the date of this posting. I’m more than happy to make things right with the member."

Response from Naturalawn Of America
"From a letter sent to the member from Steve Deits, owner: Dear Member: I can not tell you how disappointed I was reading your comments on Angie’s List from July 3, 2011. The things which bother me the most are listed below: • Your comments were posted to Angie’s List prior to me being given the opportunity to personally address your concerns. Upon my visit on July 18th, I did not find the damage you indicated to your spirea and honey locust. I have taken pictures of these plantings and can email them to you for your observation. The sulfur treatment done on June 28th was a granular application which was a slow, gradual release method for the soil. • I agree that your lawn was lime green in color when we started. It is very common for lawns with high pH to be a lime green color in your area. Because of the high pH, plants are unable to use all of the nutrients in the soil for optimum growth. The addition of sulfur, which we did apply, helps to release these nutrients into a usable form for the plant. This has taken place as indicated by the pictures I took in October, which show a much greener, healthier lawn. • An independent lab ran a soil test on your soil. The test showed that your pH of 7.7 is still very high as we had properly assessed your lawn. To continue in the direction we have started, more sulfur is needed. Due to the amount called for, this cannot be applied in one year, but rather over several years. Rest assured that we properly applied 4 pounds of “sulfur” when we did your application on June 28th. The pH level of your soil was not “ruined” as stated in your comments; rather, this was the beginning of bringing your lawn into good health. • The organic-based fertilization and sulfur treatments were done on June 28th; however, you stated that the sulfur smelled for two weeks. In fact, the period of time between when we treated the lawn and the time you posted your comments was within a week. I agree that fertilizers have some odor to them. I can not recall that this has been an issue with customers in the past. I’m sorry fertilizers have some odor to them until the applications are fully watered in. • Your comments stated that the “rate was reasonable” but you listed “F” as a rating on price. Linda, I would like to ask that you review and repost your ratings you gave our services on Angie’s List as soon as possible. The proper assessment and treatments for your property was exactly what your property needed. My pictures show your lawn doing much better and no damages to your spirea or honey locust. The independent soil test still shows a high pH level in the soil which will take many years to lower. Sulfur should be part of your normal fertilization process in the future. I welcome your written comments to this letter and a revised rating on Angie’s List."

Very professional. Cost is a little higher than other lawn services, BUT this is an organic product which is more expensive. I always get a call a day or two ahead of the service date to inform me they will be out to my house.

I am an annual customer. They come out 6 to 7 times during the course of the year to treat and fertilize my lawn. They are very responsive. In the past I have called them with various problems from bare spots in my lawn to weeds which pop into my sprinkler system. They send somebody out to meet me, consult me and take care of any of my needs. They have been fantastic. I have used them on two different properties over the last two years. I spent $150 the last time I used them. I will use this company in the future.

They were very responsive. They use natural chemicals in all of their work. They understand the Denver area and how to get the best results for a good lawn without having to apply a lot of chemicals. They have very professional service.

I used this service on my previous house and in only months I had the nicest yard on the block. They are very professional, call before showing up and do a very comprehensive job. I have had outstanding reponsiveness with problems. Whether it is weeds or sprinkler issues, I have repeatedly had a rep show up to examine problems and make recommmendations or tailor solutions to fit my needs. Very satisfied.

They give us a good price. They do good work. The grass is really green. We had a problem last year with some of the yard dying. They came out and fixed it, and split the cost with us. They are supposed to call the night before they come out, sometimes they just show up. If they tell you they will be there in the morning, they will be there.
