timely. good crew.
I would recommend as a roofer to anyone.
The workman came on time on the date that was given to me. The workman were very polite. Because there were four layers of old roofing material to be removed, it took longer than just the one day to put on the new roof, but the workman kept me informed and completed the project the next day. They did a great job of cleaning up all of the debris, The project foreman came to look over everything the next morning and made arrangements for the city inspector to come out and approve the roof for the City and County of Denver. The roof passed inspection and my husband and I are very pleased.
It seemed the work was poorly orchestrated as the gutter people didn't know what the roof people were doing and when. I had to take days off from work to make appointments and to be there while the work was being performed. Several times the work was rescheduled without even so much as a phone call to me. Basically I was sitting there waiting for people to show up and they never did. Had to call the main office to dig into what was going on several times. I basically felt like I had to be the project manager for the whole engagement; something I didn't have the time for.
Though the work seemed to be of good quality when it finally got done, we weren't warned that the force of impact from all the tools they were using would knock items off our walls. Also, our garage was filled with wood and other debris from how they installed the roof over it. It was a good thing we didn't have cars in there. They said they would pick up all the nails around the house when they were done with special magnets. For weeks I was finding roof nails on the perimeter of my property that were just sitting there in the open. Had a magnet come anywhere near such a nail it would have picked it up.
This was a very stressful time for my family and me and having to constantly follow up on what and when things would be done was a real chore. Cleanup was not great and I had to personally cleanup quite a bit afterwards which was not what I had in mind nor what I was sold. Their back office employees seemed incompetent.
Nonetheless, Tyler was my first contact and "something: felt different with him. Robert followed to "close the deal" on my scepticism and very strong inclination to say a flat "NO!". Well, it just flew from there.
There was a contract with every offer, nothing was left to trust, along with all guarantees and Ro bert left us with names, addresses and phone numbers in our immediate area of people they had done roofing for that I could actually call and speak to about Monarch and the work done. Mind you, several people had used other roofers around us and once the initial check was received ---- no roof no contractor! Not so here and because of this reality, I will never deal with anyone but Monarch in the future.
The workmen were here by 6:30 a.m. and the roof started falling to the earth and they uncovered 15 roof boards that were rotting (which explains the pneumatic drill of a local woodpecker finding our old roof very delectible with grubs!!!!). Thankfully, our insurer (Hartford) covers unseen damage 100%! These men (5 total) worked nonstop in unbearable heat all day long until 9:45 p.m. wth about a :20 break for lunch. I repeat, their clean-up was unbelievable, as well.
Another truck showed up the next morning to collect any remaining debris that did not fit into the two dumpster vehicles, but was already full and asked if he could return later when empty. At that point, I would probably have agreed to wait a month as a courtesy! Robert showed up the next morning with a magnet device to certify there were no tacks nor metal still hiding anywhere. As well, I need to mention that their foremen and supervisors showed up to get them additional supplies and check on the quality of work being done -- which, I might add, was never necessary to check! Robert was always calling to check up and see if everything was to my satisfaction.
All I can say is "Unbelievable and the roof is stunning" -- PROBABLY WORTH MORE THAN THE REST OF THE HOUSE! Anyone who does not use Monarch is really silly. A real nugget of a find and we are just thrilled. Hartford is a recommendation, also.
