Chris Ball was awesome to deal with. he did the estimating and also checked in on the job. The crew that did the stucco repair was very good, diligent and pleasant to deal with. The finished product was great.

The job did not go well. I realize times are different, companies are short-handed, and there's a tremendous demand for services. I'm willing to cut them some slack under the circumstances. But . . . Monarch is subcontracting out their work and they really don't have enough control over their subs. On several occasions, workers didn't show up when they're supposed to, which was frustrating when we arranged our schedule around them. We had to watch them constantly to make sure they were doing what we contracted them for, and constantly had to point out things they missed or did poorly. There was essentially no oversight provided by our Monarch representative. When they told us they would do something, there was a 50% chance of them actually doing it. In fact, they deceptively told us they did things they hadn't actually done. The job looks bad, and the work quality is poor. When a Monarch rep different than the one we were working with came by, he remarked that it wasn't quality work and needed to be addressed. Our rep said he'd come by to assess things himself and then never did. Ultimately, they won. They wore us down and we got sick of dealing with them. We gave up. I wouldn't recommend using them. I'd look for other options.

They overcharged and did not follow up on their promises. The contract was supposed to be finished in 6 weeks and it took them 10 months. Offered to work with insurance but kept asking for more and more money. They spent 6 months hounding for payment on an incomplete job. They finally finished the job after filing a complaint with BBB and other agencies. Requested grey roofing and was given red, finally replaced with correct roofing.

The contract was signed in June to complete the project in July. Now in JANUARY (8 MONTHS LATER) the contract remains incomplete. After finally being scheduled for a roof installation in August (1 month late), Monarch proceeded to install the wrong roof materials. We received a red roof instead of grey. None of the crews spoke English so I called the office to let them know I thought something was wrong before they were too far into the job and was told not to worry about it. Sure enough, a few hours later I came home to a red roof. After resisting being pressured by Monarch to accept the roof as is, they finally agreed to install the grey roof per the contract. It was installed, but left 85% complete as it remains TODAY. Both the skylight and flashing on the roof are incomplete and after 7 different appointments to complete the installation, crews have either walked off the job before finishing it or not shown up at all. After repeated requests I have been given no explanations for why. I had to tarp part of my own roof personally in preparation for winter so snow and ice would not run under the shingles since they refused to complete that portion of the job unless it was part of a bigger job. Things to know if you choose to work with Monarch: 1. They want to handle all the insurance claims for you, don't let them. Handle it yourself. My insurance company has been badgering me for months about Monarch badgering them for more money on a job that they aren't working on. 2. Many of the positive reviews are paid for by Monarch to the tune of $100-200 each. Their "advertising contract" requires homeowners to 1) leave one of their signs in the front yard for 30+days, 2) write a positive review on google about their company and 3) have a picture taken in the front yard with their project manager on completion. Be wary of what you read. 3. Don't sign a contract with them unless there are stipulations added for non-performance. After x months of not completing the job, you should be free to hire someone who will. 4. None of the crews that work for them are Monarch employees, just subcontracts who only speak Spanish. They will tell you they work for them but if you ask the crews actually on the job, they will say no, that they are independent. 5. Have an independent inspector approve the work before issuing final payment. Crews lied to me and tried to tell me that they neglected to do work as part of the contract as a "courtesy". I had to hire another company to inspect the work incrementally to act on my behalf to make sure it was done correctly. 6. They will request that you try to have the county inspections done before the project is actually complete. Do not agree to this, the county inspector is your only advocate to ensure its actually done correctly. If you waive this right or say its ok, when you try to sell your home if another inspector finds a code violation then you will be the one who suffers. When we hired Monarch I was a just a tired new mom coping with a newborn hoping to get my home fixed with as little fuss as possible. Instead, I fell into an unending nightmare with Monarch after being taken advantage of by a door to door salesperson and lured by overwhelming positive (fake) reviews. From my discussions with Monarch, they talk like they want to be a good company, but are just unwilling to do what it takes to actually be one.

Monarch did an excellent job replacing the roof. All work was completed on time and within budget. As part of the job, they also installed 2 light tubes and 2 skylights, which really help brighten up the room. Overall, I am very pleased with Monarch and would highly recommend them for any future roofing or construction needs.

My overall experience with them was good. Their work was good. They did a fine job and I was happy with the final product. Their pricing was good. Regarding responsiveness, once he got the contract it was hard to get a hold of him but before that he would call me back in a minute.

The company representative called before coming to give an estimate. I was given a contract with the cost of tearing off the existing layers, approximate time that the project would take, and contact numbers for the project manager and company office.
The workman came on time on the date that was given to me. The workman were very polite. Because there were four layers of old roofing material to be removed, it took longer than just the one day to put on the new roof, but the workman kept me informed and completed the project the next day. They did a great job of cleaning up all of the debris, The project foreman came to look over everything the next morning and made arrangements for the city inspector to come out and approve the roof for the City and County of Denver. The roof passed inspection and my husband and I are very pleased.

It went well.  There were some delays with the insurance claim, but everything went smoothly aside from that.  They did a great job with the installation and with the clean up after the work.  I am very happy with the new roof.

They were recommended to me by a family member who's friend had a positive experience with them.  At first they seemed great as I was dealing directly with the owners.  They said this would be a perk and gave me the impression that I would be dealing directly with them for the whole engagement.  However, soon after we signed the contract and the work was scheduled we got shuffled off to the background with everyone else and had a difficult time getting accurate and timely replies to our questions.
It seemed the work was poorly orchestrated as the gutter people didn't know what the roof people were doing and when.  I had to take days off from work to make appointments and to be there while the work was being performed.  Several times the work was rescheduled without even so much as a phone call to me.  Basically I was sitting there waiting for people to show up and they never did.  Had to call the main office to dig into what was going on several times.  I basically felt like I had to be the project manager for the whole engagement; something I didn't have the time for.
Though the work seemed to be of good quality when it finally got done, we weren't warned that the force of impact from all the tools they were using would knock items off our walls.  Also, our garage was filled with wood and other debris from how they installed the roof over it.  It was a good thing we didn't have cars in there.  They said they would pick up all the nails around the house when they were done with special magnets.  For weeks I was finding roof nails on the perimeter of my property that were just sitting there in the open.  Had a magnet come anywhere near such a nail it would have picked it up.
This was a very stressful time for my family and me and having to constantly follow up on what and when things would be done was a real chore.  Cleanup was not great and I had to personally cleanup quite a bit afterwards which was not what I had in mind nor what I was sold.  Their back office employees seemed incompetent.

The Monarch representative told us what they would be doing and when to expect them to be at the house. The best advertising they could get was the majority of houses in our neighborhood had a Monarch sign out front.

AThis was a door-to-door cold call in the beginning, if you can believe it.  I have been deluged with roofing solicitations, as this vintage house has "T-Lock" tiles ---- far and away out of date.  Hence, the house is a magnet for these people.
Nonetheless, Tyler was my first contact and "something: felt different with him.  Robert followed to "close the deal" on my scepticism and very strong inclination to say a flat "NO!".  Well, it just flew from there.
There was a contract with every offer, nothing was left to trust, along with all guarantees and Ro bert left us with names, addresses and phone numbers in our immediate area of people they had done roofing for that I could actually call and speak to about Monarch and the work done.  Mind you, several people had used other roofers around us and once the initial check was received ---- no roof no contractor!  Not so here and because of this reality, I will never deal with anyone but Monarch in the future.
The workmen were here by 6:30 a.m. and the roof started falling to the earth and they uncovered 15 roof boards that were rotting (which explains the pneumatic drill of a local woodpecker finding our old roof very delectible with grubs!!!!).  Thankfully, our insurer (Hartford) covers unseen damage 100%!  These men (5 total) worked nonstop in unbearable heat all day long until 9:45 p.m. wth about a :20 break for lunch.  I repeat, their clean-up was unbelievable, as well.
Another truck showed up the next morning to collect any remaining debris that did not fit into the two dumpster vehicles, but was already full and asked if he could return later when empty.  At that point, I would probably have agreed to wait a month as a courtesy!  Robert showed up the next morning with a magnet device to certify there were no tacks nor metal still hiding anywhere.  As well, I need to mention that their foremen and supervisors showed up to get them additional supplies and check on the quality of work being done -- which, I might add, was never necessary to check!  Robert was always calling to check up and see if everything was to my satisfaction.
All I can say is "Unbelievable and the roof is stunning"  -- PROBABLY WORTH MORE THAN THE REST OF THE HOUSE!  Anyone who does not use Monarch is really silly.  A real nugget of a find and we are just thrilled.  Hartford is a recommendation, also.

We have never  been so impressed with a company as Monarch Construction. Not only did they deliver what they promised, but they went beyond what was expected or necessary. Normally when a salesperson gives a proposal that sounds “too good to be true,” we back away as quickly as possible. However, our sales rep Matthew Beverly, not only delivered on his promise but stuck with the project from beginning to end.     Our roof had three to four areas damaged from wind and hail, but we also had T-Lock shingles which are no longer made. So when our insurance company sent out their inspector, Matt also showed up at our residence as well. The roof was approved for a full replacement. A day and time was set up and thus our adventure began.       The night before a dumpster was parked on our driveway for the next day.The roof was installed on 03/15/2012. The crew came in early at 7a.m., they were really quiet. After securing our dogs inside, the perimeter of the house was surrounded by plastic on the ground for the debris from the roof. All of the workmen were polite and secured the fences around the property. We were kept informed by the construction foreman who apprised us of every step during the project. There were 10-12 men on the project. They actually finished our entire roof in one day which surprised all of us including our neighbors. We did a walk around the next day and the areas around our home were cleaner than before, not a single shingle or nail was found. They took special care, we think because we have a toddler in the house and dogs. They took a magnet around to pick up any stray nails before they left. These are some of the many steps taken, that we think are above and beyond industry standards.    Also, Matt, the project manager kept us informed of all the steps necessary to get the insurance monies in a timely fashion. He personally came out to pick up the checks and took the time to show my son what was done on the roof.    The roof is so beautiful and actually makes our home look classier than before. Additionally, it is better insulated from sound due to the plywood panels. It was a definite upgrade from our old shingles to the laminated shingles. The ridge-line on the house is awesome and very striking! We were pleasantly impressed and thankful for the integrity of this company and it’s employees.    Unfortunately, the City of Aurora doesn’t get to their inspections as fast as would be expected. We are still waiting as of this date 4/20/2012.  Mary M. Anderson  and family April 20, 2012
