About us
Mile High Landscaping is a design/build firm dedicated to creating outdoor living spaces and landscapes for enjoyable living. The sound of trickling water, the crackle of a fire, the smell of your favorite food on the cook top all help us soothe away the stress and fatigue of our busy lives. Our designers and project managers are involved in the entire process from conceptual plan to finished landscape project, working directly with each client to ensure that the landscape design captures the client’s lifestyle and tastes as well as the best of contemporary design. It is our belief that every project is an opportunity to create something new and different, …a sense or feeling that can only be accomplished by transcending stones, plants, water, and wood… something unique, something magical.

We are not "visionary" so needed help at the very beginning to help figure out what was possible as well as within our budget. Will was extremely helpful in this regard and very clear on the expectations and possibilities. The work required removal of existing concrete patio and grass, placement of new hardscape, raised plant beds, a water fountain, irrigation, lots of lighting and many plants. All of the work was performed very professionally and Will and his staff were available for and very responsive to all of our questions and any concerns. The "finished product" is amazing! It is even better than we imagined. And Will's and the company's attention and availability has continued even since the work was completed to tweak some of the lighting and irrigation in a very timely manner and to our complete satisfaction. This company might be more expensive than some, but it is entirely worth it in our estimation.
I actually had no reason for trepidation, since the work was backed by a full "do over" at no additional cost guarantee. which is rare nowadays. Mile High will be my primary lawn care service for all my future needs.
"Thanks for the kind words (member name removed)! It was great working with you too, and WOW did your project turn out amazing! We will have it on our blog very soon. Thanks again for the work and allowing us to create another work of art in your backyard!"
"Mile High Landscaping has been installing high quality, artistic landscapes for over 9 years and has NEVER has a bad review. This client was very hard to deal with. Nit picking everything we did and saying things didn't look right even if we weren't finished. The wife sat out on the patio while crew constructed arbor and gave orders to our foreman who has over 15 years in the industry and has installed projects as large as $1.5 million. You can imagine how this makes a tough job even tougher. In construction, once in a while things need adjustments or additional cleaning. However, if the contractor is not given the opportunity to do the adjustment or cleaning, then how can it be rectified? This review represents exactly this case. Let me address the accusations one by one. We removed approximately 4 square feet of patio to dig caissons and pour concrete. Then we reinstalled pavers around posts just as we had planned and patio looked the same as before. Second the client suggested that we stain wood on driveway. We used 3 tarps to keep stain from going through, but unfortunately some stain did go through. We cleaned it with an acid based cleaner specifically used for cleaning concrete. What happened is that the areas where we used the cleaner it actually cleaned the concrete to its original color. Once we saw how it reacted, we realized we needed to clean the entire driveway with the same method, a 2 hour solution. The touch up staining some of the bricks is over exaggerated. There was a few pea sized sprinkles over a 1 square foot area that could have been cleaned easily or replaced with pavers that were removed where posts now were. The client was comparing the levelness of the arbor with the levelness of the siding which was definitely not level. There were a few things that needed additional cleaning on this job; however the client refused to let us come back for the last half a day and do remaining clean up. BOTH the client and Mile High Landscaping AGREED that if we were not to come back to do remaining clean up that we were to reduce final invoice by $500, far more than the dollars in payroll it would have taken to finish the clean up. So if we did such a bad job and the arbor was off level 3" then why did we get our final check? Anyone reading this please don't let this single bad write up in a 9 year span ruin you opportunity to work with a great contractor.
