$5,000
Josh was hired to do waterproofing on our newly purchased home. He requested a wire transfer, which should have been a warning. Once we paid the money, he did some quick repairs. Within a week, the concrete had broken and leaks in basement had not been repaired. I’m not sure what work he actually did since we left him unsupervised, unfortunately. We phoned him, left messages, and emailed him, but the money had been paid in full and he was unreachable.

Josh came to our house to do an inspection within 24 hours of calling him, and was available to complete the work in less than a week. His crew was friendly, hard working, and considerate of us. I will refer MHS to anyone I know that has water issues.

Handyman Service
$500
Josh came to my home and signed a contract (which I still have) to do concrete footers. He asked for a $500 down payment for supplies and I wrote him the check. Big mistake! Another contractor I had told me never give a contractor a down payment because if they can't afford materials they probably aren't very good. Well, of course once he got that check he became unresponsive even though he told me he was available to do the work. If I hadn't have given him that down payment I would have just found someone else to do the job but he had my money so I had to see it through. When Josh was finally ready to do the job he had the guts to ask me for more money for materials! What was that $500 for?! So again, being 500 in the hole I went to home depot and put the materials on my CC (which I also still have the receipt for). Ironically, I had josh place the order for the materials and even though he had engineering drawings of how the footers were to be constructed he still ordered the wrong steel sizes and amounts. Anyway, at that point Josh got and quot;sickand quot; again and became unresponsive for an extended amount of time which is extremely frustrating when you have other contractors connected to the job with their own time constraints. Ironically, he finally responded to me when I sent him an email asking for my money back and calling him unprofessional. At that point he demanded more money to do the job (even though he had already signed a contract). Well there was no way I was giving this guy any more money. To date Josh has not returned any of the $500 or done any work for me and this was 2 years ago. Check out his Better Business Bureau rating- not surprisingly an F. This is the type of contractor Angies List was designed to help you steer clear of. I believe every word of the other poster. Josh is bad news.

This whole experience has been very frustrating and ended up costing us much more money in the long run!  Be aware of Josh Olson, MHS, INC.
Response from MHS of Denver, LLC.
"This review is inflammatory and intentionally so. This client had me out to work on a faucet, a light and a bed. I replaced a line on the faucet and then ran the faucet in front of her husband for no less than 20 minutes. It did not leak, there was 0 water anywhere near the faucet or otherwise. There is an instant hot water unit under the sink, I believe that is what is leaking. As for the rest of it, she cancelled twice. I cancelled twice, re-scheduling to new dates both times. The second time I re-scheduled was because I was in a vehicle accident, which I sent her a picture of to assure that she understood that I was on the up and up. When she received the picture with the text, she sent back 9 texts detailing her unhappiness. I returned her call, she threatened that her mother was a lawyer, swore at me (f-bombs) and hung up. She continued to send harassing texts, I then asked her not to contact me again. I believe her review is intentionally slanderous and intends to cause harm to my business/my name. I believe the term is "wanton disregard of the facts". Did it work out perfect? No. Was that my fault? Best thing would have been, when I called and asked her if we could work it our, to have worked it out and not threatened me with her mom lawyer or scream f-bombs into the phone. Not the act of a normal sane person."
