Marquez Fence

I recently had a fence put in by Marquez. It was in an area that had landscape fabric and rocks. When they dug the holes they made no effort to clean up the dirt. They spread the dirt in the rocks. it would have been very easy to prevent this issue by simply pulling the rock away from the area that they were digging. Now I have to spend hours cleaning it up to prevent weeds from growing. I spent $4400 for a 100 feet of fencing. For that price you would think that they could clean up the mess. I contacted them and they said that the work was acceptable. I'm very disappointed and will not recommend them to my neighbors.

Used Marquez after watching them do my neighbors fence last year and I couldn't be happier. They were fast, efficient, and up to my wife's incredibly high standards (she used a level on EVERY picket when we built our fence at our last house.). The post holes were dug deep to age well, the gates have bigger posts to support them over time, and the crew was fantastic. If I need another fence should I move I'll be calling Marquez again.

Great. This is a follow-up to a review I place in May, 2013, when Marquez completed a small repair job. They said at the time that, even though the existing fence was getting in rough shape, we should just wait until it falls apart before replacing it. It fell apart, and the Marquez guys came back, removed the old one, built the new one, and stained it all. They are quick, professional, and do really good work. They also communicate really well and let you know when they will arrive, how long things will take, etc. Couldn't recommend them more highly.

In the past, other fence companies were less than satisfactory. Marquez Fence company was amazing. From the initial contact from Marcos, who oversaw the project from start to finish, he was personable, professional, stayed in touch, and always responded to calls and request. The installation team was prompt, courteous and extremely skilled in their workmanship. Give Marcos and Marquez Fence an A+++. They were great and we highly recommend this company.

Very well. They couldn't get to the work for a month and told me upfront and they showed up the day they said they would and completed the work as quickly as possible.

This was a big effort, we were replacing a fence that was common to four properties. Marquez was on time for every appointment we made, gave us a written fixed-price estimate on the spot, showed up to start the work when they said they would, and did everything on time. I was SUPER impressed with these guys, as were our neighbors. The design of the fence was something Tony came up with and it's really slick. I've worked with a lot of contractors. Marquez was totally professional and phenomenal to deal with.

Tony came out a couple of days after I contacted him, delayed those days due to weather. He gave me a bid that was the most responsive and best value of the 4 companies I contacted. His crew came the next day at the scheduled time and got the work done in less than 4 hours. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves, especially given the conditions that day. I will definately use them again in the future.

Rafael and his crew came when they were scheduled and completed the work in a timely and very professional manner in a little over a day.

The owner, Tony, was a pleasure to work with, and his price was very fair.

I would absolutely recommend Marquez in the future for your fencing needs.

Custom options, though, are something that should make you look at Marquez - they worked with us on a custom arbor over the gate for only $300!Scheduling: We accepted his quote about 3 weeks after receiving it, and the lead time based on Marquez' schedule and other parts of our project came to about 6 weeks. We were quite happy with this, as 1) it's spring - high construction season, and 2) Tony was able to fit us in between concrete pouring and painting projects neatly. Punctuality: The crew arrived at about 8:30AM the morning of the job and apologized for arriving late. Really? That's late? The second day (placing the fence after the posts had set up in concrete), they expected to be there by mid-afternoon and finish up that day. Hailstorms prevented that - they arrived at my house around 6PM - in the remaining 2 hours of daylight, they managed to complete about 75% of the remaining work. They arrived the next morning and finished the job in about 2 hours. Cannot overstate how impressed we were with this.Professionalism: Crews were uniformed in bright red Marquez shirts. Clean, polite, professional behavior - very friendly. Very focused, accomplished what we considered to be a lot in a very short time, with very high quality.Responsiveness: One contractor responded by e-mail with a price, very vague options, and asked if we wanted to buy a fence. Tony Marquez came to our home, walked the property with us, discussed options, provided a quote on the spot. We interacted with Tony a number of times to discuss options and scheduling, as well as the status of work when under way. I don't really think we ever waited more than a couple of hours for him to respond to e-mail or text messages. We added a custom arbor over the gate to the project a couple of weeks before build - Tony adjusted the price, and we basically and quot;designedand quot; the arbor at build time based very loosely on an internet photo, making adjustments to the implementation as we went along.Quality: The fence we replaced was a 1987 Yugo. The replacement is a 2014 Honda Accord EX. We could have spent $20,000 on something truly elaborate, with one of the more expensive fence builders in town, but that wasn't our objective. We wanted a solid, well constructed fence, with a really nice style that would improve our curb appeal. Marquez gave us more than we asked for - more than we paid for, to be honest. Overall: Our old fence had reached a point of actually detracting from the appeal of the home. Now it feels... finished.

The fence is great. They came out and gave me a bid a few days after I contacted them. The wait time to get the fence installed was just a few weeks. Best price I could find in a short time frame. Scheduling was a bit rough - they gave days, but not times, which was difficult with my full-time work schedule. Also, it helped to be here when the work was getting done because each crew asked me which way the fence was supposed to face. I'd use this company again.

They worked within the HOA requirements and did it quickly and inexpensively while maintaining high quality. I was very happy with their work and would definitely use them again.

All the guys were extremely punctual!  Their price was the best available and the final product looks great!  These guys know what they're doing.

These guys are great.  It was a very small job, one that a lot of contractors wouldn't consider.  Tony came out and gave me a price.  Two guys showed up on Saturday morning and got the job done quickly and cleanly.  We'll have to replace a lot of our privacy fence in the next couple of years, and we'll have them do it.  I asked Tony about the condition of the fence, and he said just to keep it until it starts falling apart.  A lot of outfits would have tried to sell me a new fence on the spot.  They're the best.

His price was the best out of several bids, and he did exactly what he said he would do and was done in one day.

Antonio was very responsive from the start.  I had lots of questions that I kept thinking of and he was very good at responding quickly and professionally to my calls and e-mails.  They started when they said they would and were done on time.  The yard was picked up and everything was done well.  I wish every hoe project went as easily.

Tony came out to measure the property and assess my needs immediately, and gave me a written quote on the spot, broken down by a couple different options or extras. Other companies either gave a quote over the phone without seeing the place, or came to measure and never contacted me with a quote. 
Tony's crew started the following week, and over two days they removed sections of old chainlink fence, large chunks of concrete, and out of control trees in addition to constructing a pretty large fence. The crew was professional and very courteous, and on the second day they went straight to work without even knocking on my door (which I really liked--as any new homeowner knows, it can get exhausting having to manage all the vendors). Tony and his team made some adjustments on the fly when necessary, with my consent, and explained each option well. The fence is beautiful and the gates are top quality...they can be locked securely from the inside, which gives me peace of mind. As a bonus, the yard smells like cedar. This was a great experience.

Tony was professional and courteous. He responded quickly, got me a quote, and we started pretty quickly. They replaced the back of my fence which is about 150 feet long, with steel posts and cedar planks. They also added a gate in the back, and did some other work to the fence. The team was professional and they did beautiful work. My neighbors are complaining that they have to have their fence done now since mine is so pretty!

They are very exact and kept us informed throughout the entire process. They kept the workspace very clean, and you would've never known they were there, except for our new fence. The owner Tony, came out for the original estimate and came out for customer satisfaction. Their work is immaculate and my fence is just beautiful!

Over all very happy, Fence turned out great, Looks nice and was installed very well. Did have an issue where they left my gate open and the dog got out but they did apologize and it felt genuine. Found the dog and all is well. There team showed up on time and on the day they scheduled. Took two days to install a privacy fence and along yhe back of my yard and a fence form the side of my home to the new fence. I would recommend using Marquez Fence for any new fencing you need! it's rear to find people taht listen to what you want and do it right the first time this day in age. a major good job to the team at Marquez Fence!

The Marquez Company provided an overall quality service at a fair price. We received four other estimates. Though all of the estimates were very close, we felt most comfortable with this company because they brought a brochure showing what their product looked like and why it was a smart fence to have installed. They put up the fence quickly, it looks nice, and it seems to be sturdy. With the sometimes high winds at our home, this fence should remain secure for a long time. They suggested we also stain it to help protect the wood. The service was handled professionally.

The first fence company I called and left a message but they did not return my call for three days.  Marquez Fence came out and submitted a fencing bid/proposal the day after I contacted them. Marquez Fence got the necessary building permit and came right out to install both an ornamental Iron fence with gate on street side of backyard and cedar privacy fence with gate on other side of house. The crew set posts one afternoon and finished fence the next morning. Both crews cleaned up any dirt, etc. that resulted from their work. We are very pleased with the appearance and quality of both fences and the professional manner in which they were installed.

Found the company through my HOA.  Previous development customers were very happy with the work. 

The owner came and inspected my fencing and post needs and provided an estimate,  He also suggested using a sturdier mail post. 

Estimate was reasonable and timely scheduled.  They called the cable company and the utility company (Call before you dig) which I appreciated.  Property was marked several days before work began. 

Employees were terrific, answered my questions, performed very high quality work and cleaned up the site.  They had to make one side of the mailbox support longer than the other as it was one of new wider boxes. 

They made it look great and consulted me along the way as work was being performed,  Work was completed as promised and on time.  Love the new gate and latching.  Fencing looks great from the street. 

Would definitely use them again. Very professional company.

I first found Marquez Fence by driving around our neighborhood and seeing what our neighbors did for fences.  After noting some companies, I decided to join Angie's List for better reviews and testimonials.  I did not see many reports for Marquez Fencing but decided to give them a call anyway.

Marquez Fence was not the first company I called.  I called Company 1 and left a message.  I called Company 2 and left a message.  Both Company 1 & 2 had great reviews on Angie's List and I felt that I would go with one of them.  The next day I called Company 1 again and again left a message.  I received a callback from Company 2 only to learn that they did not do estimates after 5pm.  Company 2 stated they could do a drive by estimate and leave it in my mailbox.  Of course, the estimate would not get done until 4 days later.  Company 2 did not seem that interested at all.

Next, I called Marquez Fence.  I immediately connected with Antonio and he was very professional in answering my call.  After giving Antonio some quick details, I informed him that due to my work schedule I was not available for estimates until 5:30pm on weekdays.  Antonio replied with a "no problem" and asked if I was available that same day at 5:30.  I was and Antonio pulled up at exactly 5:30.

Antonio was polite and courteous and I quickly realized this is how a business person should act in today's economy.  Competition is fierce and time is valuable but Antonio made the effort to accommodate my needs.  The estimate was pretty straightforward but Antonio provided me with a detailed breakdown for the various costs.  Antonio asked me if I wanted to save any money by removing the old fence myself.  How many fence companies ask that?  Here is a guy bidding for a job but he also understands that it is my hard-earned money at risk.  Antonio was doing a great job earning my trust.

The breakdown worked out to $180 for the removal and haul away of the old fence, $150 per walk gate, $300 for the double gate, $100 for the post replacement, and $15.50 per linear foot of new fence.  Antonio even came up with a great suggestion of moving a portion of the fence from the back corner of my house to the front corner of my house.  Antonio explained it would add more "private, backyard space" and allowed us or future homeowners the added option of a dog run or a garden on the side of our house.  My wife and I never even considered that!  Antonio said he would round off the top of the walkgate to add a decorative touch and view from the street.

I thanked Antonio for his time and suggestions and informed him that we would get back to him.  The next day (a Friday) I decided to contact a 4th company and attempted to contact Company 1 a 3rd time.  The following week we finally received a call and estimate from Company 1.  To their credit, Company 1 (which I will name later) was very impressive and offered a bid that was acutally less than Marquez Fence.

Company 2 was a joke.  Their estimate was $3,400.  Company 2 also made a point to jam a pocket sized U.S. Constitution leaflet into my estimate.  Really?!?  I asked for a fence estimate not a lesson in the U.S. Constitution.  I honestly don't know what this guy's intention was but my wife was ticked.  She is an attorney and has taken two courses of Constitutional Law in law school and I guarantee she knows more about the U.S. Constitution and what it states.  Here's an idea...don't be a tool!

I digress...

Company 4 estimate was $4,200.  We decided to go with Marquez Fence because they were the most informative, prompt, and really earned my trust.  The fence install was scheduled and they came out on a Saturday about 2 weeks later.  Although Antonio was not apart of the crew (which I knew beforehand), Tony and his guys arrived early and were very impressive.  They asked about any concerns and provided many options and opinions about the angles and placement of the fence around my garage.  

Tony and his crew were in and out really quick.  The old fence was removed and the new posts were set within 4 hours.  The next day was Sunday so the guys enjoyed a deserved day off.  I was actually glad because it allowed me the time to tidy up and rearrange a flower bed plus the concrete posts were able to cure even more.  The following Monday the guys showed up again on time and the fence was done by 3:30 that day.

The next day I received a follow-up call from Antonio regarding any questions or concerns.  Antonio met me that Tuesday evening at 5:30 and wanted to inspect the final product.  We discussed the crew's performance, promptness, and overall professionalism.  Antonio thanked me for the oppportunity for his company to complete the project and asked if he could do a final walk through.  He both walked the job looking for any flaws or concerns.  I could tell Antonio was not giving me any B.S. and was truly in tune with the workmanship.  After the walk through, I went inside for my checkbook to make the final payment and I watched as Antonio continued to nitpick the work that had been done. 

I cut the final check and Antonio suggested I stain and finish the fence to preserve the natural beauty and longevity of the fence.  He also suggested I do not go to Home Depot and get a cheap finish but gave me product ideas that were professional grade and would stand up to Colorado's weather.  I am a major DIYer and if I do something I like to do it right the first time.  I was not able to sucker any friends into this project but felt that I got a great value from Marquez Fence.

I know that was a long review but it was well earned and deserved.  For those that are curious and still reading at this point...

I know Americo has many great reviews and Marco was very nice, but please consider Marquez Fence and Antonio.  You will not be disappointed.

Marquez Fence provided an estimate within a day of contacting them and completed the work within of couple of weeks of  acceptance of their proposal when they said they would. The material and workmanship quality was outstanding. It would have been helpful to have more detail on the proposal but they did a good job or answering questions, so that was not a significant negative. The cleanup after the job was finished was excellent.
