I wanted to put a gas insert stove/fireplace in my old, decommissioned, sealed-off fireplace/mantle of my old house (built in 1885). The old mantle had a narrow opening, which limited our options for a fireplace insert. I shopped around and spoke with several Denver-area providers/contractors before deciding to go with Lehrer's. Although their bid was not the lowest, they clearly seemed to have a lot experience, knew what they were talking about, and were happy to perform all work and quot;to codeand quot;; even so, their bid was not substantially higher than other bids received. They helped out with with finding the best solution to our somewhat unusual problem: finding a gas insert that would fit in a very old, narrow enclosure. Keith and his crew gave me good advice on preparation and other tasks which needed to be performed before the actual installation.Keith and his installers always showed up on time (three different scheduled house visits), did what they said they would do, in a competent and professional manner. This included coordinating the permit and inspection process with the City of Denver. When the inspector performed the inspection, he commented on the excellent work and that he had always had good experiences with Lehrers; this makes me feel more confident that my house won't blow up due to faulty workmanship on a gas appliance.We are pleased with the Valor President model gas insert fireplace we now have. I would recommend Keith Lehrer and his crew to others looking to install gas insert fireplaces.

Keith did the estimating. He was prompt, explained
everything, gave us suggestions and options. We delayed past the expiration of
the bid but Keith still honored his original quote.
 
We were contacted by the scheduler, Josh who worked well
with us to meet our time frame.
 
James and Richard were the installers. They arrived early.
They checked out everything and got started immediately. They covered the work
area. They worked quickly and efficiently. Once the unit was installed, they
worked in great detail to show us how the unit worked and what we needed to do.
When they were finished, they cleaned the entire work area. They completed the
work before the scheduled end time.

In the end, we have two new gas log sets that look great, but there were a few bumps getting there.
The estimate process went smoothly.  We have some unusual fireplaces and the estimator did a great job identifying products that would meet our needs.  He arrived on time, worked quickly and provided a quote in a timely manner.
The installation was scheduled and the installers arrived on time (since it was a crazy holiday week, a call to confirm our appointment would have been nice but we did not receive one).  First, they removed both old gas log sets.  They installed one gas log set and really did a beautiful job arranging it.  They put the second set in, but didn't have the correct valve so they couldn't hook it up.  They left and said they would be back later that day to finish.  When they had not shown up at the end of the day, my husband called.  They had to be scheduled for 4 days later due to the holiday. 
When one guy came back, he worked for a while and then came to inform me that the second set would not work in that fireplace; he had safety concerns.  He had removed the logs, now leaving us with and empty fireplace.  I would not expect an installer to do something he did not feel was safe, but I was angry that he had not consulted me before removing the logs and that he couldn't even return the fireplace to its original, functioning state because he no longer had the old log set.
We called the main office.  It took two days to get a response (probably because of the holidays, but still....).  When we finally did talk to someone they were very apologetic and promised to make it right, which they did.  We did get a new log set and it is functioning now....so in the end it was all good and I would recommend them.

They were very helpful at the showroom in helping us decide what to buy - we came in 3 different times in trying to make the best decision - there are alot of options!
They gave us a detailed estimate of the cost of installation and stayed very close to that estimate (it went over a little due to some extra work on the stone facing).
They were punctual and professional and cleaned up after themselves.
We had a small problem with one of the fireplaces and they were VERY responsive in getting in fixed.
We would certainly use them again - we are very pleased with our new fireplaces!

They arrived when they said they would.  Took apart the fireplace completely and cleaned everything.  Took very little time to do the work and when done the fireplace looked like a different fireplace!

Obtained estimate for installing Mendota gas fireplace.  Fireplace was installed 4 weeks following my decision to go through with the project.  Took slightly longer than expected, due to necessity of running new gas line to existing fireplace.  I am thoroughly pleased with the results.

Very good experience, good retail customer service, 3rd party installation was fast and they were helpful in setting up dates to install. Parts were forgotten and hard to retrieve from retail store.
