Mr. Tran did an excellent job in our Spring yard clean-up and trimming. This was our first time using him. Very methodical. We had lots of compliments from neighbors after the fact about how neat the job looked, and how professional it appeared. Definitely will be hiring him this year. He works alone.

Excellent Job!  Timely and inexpensive -- I couldn't ask for more!!

I should have gone with another service.  I asked him to remove all old (grey) mulch and a few little stones, level the ground, and then cover it all with new mulch.  He said no, he would just level the old mulch, and put the new mulch on top of it.   I guess it would be too much trouble for him to haul out the old stuff.
But I believed in him, as this is my first Angie's List hire, and he has an A rating.  I agreed to $560 for the labor - I paid for the mulch myself, in addition to that - and he told me to get 6 yards which would be the equivalent of 3 inches of mulch.  He said 7 yards would be too much.  Well, I got 7 yards and it barely covered the old mulch that was there.  In most places it's just 1 inch, in one place (at the back, behind a tree) there was none at all.
He did a good job cleaning out the old leaves - (he missed cleaning under one pine tree) - but I asked him to come back as I wasn't happy with the little bit of new red mulch, which I imagine will be mixed with the old mulch in about a month.  I also wasn't happy with some large areas on the rock bed that were still dirty.  And a couple of other things.
When I tried to follow up, he didn't return my call as eagerly as he had in the beginning.  In fact, he never returned my last call; I was contemplating calling him from a different number when he suddenly showed up at my door.  So I brought him around to the back to show him what I wasn't happy with.
He's a good salesman, he had a ready explanation/excuse as to why it wasn't done to my satisfaction.  In regards to the dirty rockbed, he exclaimed that it's hard dirt!  I had thought that he just missed a couple of spots.  Hard dirt!  Look!  He can't clean with the blower, he only blows the leaves!  I said I didn't know HOW he cleaned the rocks, but if it's only by blowing the leaves I could've done it myself.  And he had originally agreed to clean the rocks, right?  He had me watch him as he got out his blower and tried again.  Well guess what?  this time the dirt blew away easily.  Rocks are much cleaner, I'm happy with that.  I still think they either missed those spots, or didn't bother with them because there was a low-hanging tree branch that covered some of the rock bed, hiding it a little.
When I complained about the fact that nowhere in the yard was there 3 inches of new mulch, he said, That's just estimate!  That's just estimate!  I don't have a tape measure!  OK I said, then I'll pay for 5 more yards of mulch, and he offered to get it for me so I wouldn't have to pay the delivery fee again, and that suited me just fine...until he mentioned that it would be $250 more in labor (!)   Because, he told me, he had two strong men working ALL DAY to carry that mulch from the driveway down into the yard.  And the garden steps are hard to go up and down with the wheelbarrow, he said.  I turned down this additional job, thinking that I shouldn't have to pay more for the fact that he had underestimated the amount of mulch.   Later I watched them on my security camera recording, and in fact it took 3 1/2 hours to move the mulch - not all day - and they had no trouble at all going up & down the steps.  No trouble at all.
He also mentioned, at least three times, that it takes an hour to come here.  So perhaps that's why he wanted to charge me more.  I live in Parker.
I originally agreed on $560 with the understanding that I would have 3 inches of new mulch.  Since he hadn't cashed my check yet, I put a stop payment on it, and sent him $400 with a letter of explanation.  I waited a couple of weeks before posting this review, as I know he's anxious to have happy customers from Angies List, and perhaps he would call me back.  But I haven't heard from him.
I saw from my recording that he and his men worked very hard for 7 hours straight cleaning out the old leaves and laying the new mulch - they didn't seem to take any breaks, it was a hot day, and I guess there was a lot more work involved than I had originally thought.  But, as mentioned above, he has a tendency to miss spots that won't be visible to me initially.  My yard looks beautiful right now, and I'm happy at the moment...but I will certainly have to top it off with new mulch within a few months.

Lam showed up as scheduled with his helpers and went right to work......this was the 2nd time that I have used him
to trim all the bushes and trees and a job well done.....I will call him again....

He let me know that he was not going to do a clean-up of the cut weeds (which I did not want), got on his 'ride-behind Bush-Hog' and had everything done very quickly and for a price that I think was more than fair (I wanted to give him a little more to be honest---but he was done and packed up before I could think about it too long.)  I told everyone what he had done and the price and got quite a few "wow"s.  
 I can't say if he does this well for every type situation that he gets asked to work on, but he did not flinch at mine and did a overall stellar job.  Communication wasn't an issue, but I didn't really need to have a long conversation so I'm not sure if describing highly detailed work would have been a problem or not--I have no reason to think so.  I would use him again without thinking twice!

He didn’t show up and I’d already paid him. He wouldn’t answer any of my calls. Finally he comes out two months later and says he was sick. By that point, I already had someone else do the yard. It's really hard to find someone at the last minute to get this kind of work done. I was leaving town and part of the job, which we agreed upon, was to cut the grass. He was also supposed to do some weeding in the yard and put in some mulch. I had come back into town about two weeks later and I contacted him again, to see what happened. He said, "Oh, we're gonna do it." He didn't have any of the equipment required to do the work. None of the weeding or mulch had been done. It's questionable whether it's even a legitimate business. He told me things like, "I have never turned sprinklers on" and "I don't know how." Overall, I was very disappointed.

When I was first looking to get an estimate for someone to cut the lawn this summer, Lam answer my call and said he can meet me in 20 mins.  So I meet him at the house he gave me a quote and started cutting are lawn that same day. Very professional.

I feel like he took advantage of me with the pricing.  The grass was really high but he had automated equipment so there's no reason why that should've made any difference.  He still only had to go over it once.  Everyone else who came out and saw the lawn quoted me a price of $40.  He charged me double what everyone else had quoted but he was already there so he "had me."  But, he did a good job and he came out at the time he said he had an opening so I rate him highly in every other area.

Lam is my hero!!! I know you told me not to write anything on Angie's List , but I can't help myself ... after at least a dozen other "attempts" to work with various lawn and landscaping companies since earlier spring, Lam can to my rescue the same day I called him which was after 5 pm.  I've hired him to not only do my weekly mowing, but he and his crew have very affordably removed some dead shrubs, planted some new ones, misc. landscaping. I have been trying to have my lawn aerated for 3 years now.  Either it's a "no show" or price changed once they got here.  I called Lam Tran Lawn & Landscaping Service the morning of and not only did he do an excellent job but he came early and charged price he quoted!  I definitely will use in the fall and twice a year in the future!

Lum and his helper were wonderful. They were able to clean the leaves off of our mulch which we were afraid would be scattered from the blower but they handled it perfectly. They cleaned out the leaves from our plants and bushes which thrilled me because it will make spring clean up so much easier. They made sure that our front porch and back patio were cleared of leaves as well. I can't praise them enough.  We got a complete clean up above and beyond what we expected. If this attention to detail is any indication of their other services, we will certainly call them.

They did a great job -- the yards looked amazing -- so much better than they have in so long.  They were quick to setup a time to come do an estimate and schedule the work once we decided to move forward.  
The only trouble was that we decided a few days prior to the work that we wanted to reschedule due to a schedule change in our vacation and left them a message to please postpone the service and wait for us to call upon our return.  (originally they said they would come on Friday or Saturday).  I'm not sure if they didn't get the message or what, but while we were on vacation, we got a call on SUNDAY from neighbors that our dog was out and about in the neighborhood.  So, they showed up anyway to do the work on SUNDAY -- the problem was that since we didn't hear back before we left, we made a plan to be sure our pets were locked inside on both Friday and Saturday just in case they did come.  No plan was made to keep the pets inside on Sunday.  A stressful call to be thousands of miles away and find out your pet(s) are loose.
So, Yes, they did a very good job and I would use them again. Definitely.  Just a little bit crazy after we made the plan and tried to change it.  I totally could have been more diligent in calling again before we left, but just didn't think it was necessary since we left a detailed message.  So, I'll take responsibility for my part.
Yard looked amazing when we got home.

The guy who ran the machine and when he was turning it it would tare up the grass. Ok service other than that. Will have him back.

Mr. Tran was great.  He was prompt and pleasant to work with.  Mr. Tran did exactly what he said he would do.  His work was excellent, and I consider it a great value for the money.  I would recommend him to a friend, and I plan to use him in the future.

Lam Tran gave us a quote and then performed the service quickly and well.  I have had comments about how good my lawn looks after they come to mow.  We are currently using them as a long term solution to lawn care.

They did a nice job and I was pleased with it. They came out quickly, took care of it and did a good job. I will use them again in the future.

They were pretty good.  They were just very efficient and fast.

The service was prompt.  I called on Monday.  He gave me an estimate on Tuesday morning (as promised).  Then he did the work on Wednesday, as promised.

The yards have never looked this good.

I look forward to having him come back in the spring to plant grass, trim bushes etc.

Mr. Lam Tran cuts and cleans my yard about 3 times a month. He does an excellent job and is a great guy! Highly recommend.

He and a helper showed up first thing in the morning and worked all day.  I wanted them to remove the bushes, roots and all.  They worked very hard and did a great job.

I was very happy with his work. I would definitely hire him again!

Mr. Lam Tran returned my call promptly Friday evening, arrived on Saturday morning to give an estimate and started work at 8am the following Monday.  He was very professional from start to finish, did an excellent job, and had us inspect his work saying that if anything was not as we wanted to just let him know and he would take care of it.  As a courtesy he even emptied a large composter onto our garden for my husband (who is disabled).  We couldn't have been happier with this gentleman's service and will definitely use him again 

Lam returned my call immediately and showed up early the next morning. He was incredibly careful about removing the ?right? material. He is a phenomenally hard-working individual. While it might seem trite to refer to him as an "old-school professional," it is nonetheless true. I plan to use him to re-sod my lawn as well as a number of other garden projects in the Spring. Hire him, you won't regret it.

Mr. Tran returned my call promptly, arrived at my house punctually and did a superb job. He did the job exactly as requested in a timely manner. He was very courteous and professional. I will definitely use Mr. Tran's services again.
