Worst customer experience possible. Incompetence surpassed by arrogance. Took over 2.5 years to have plans that could be built on a 100 sq ft addition. Multiple reviews due to incorrect assumptions or lack of detail. Catastrophic flaw designed into the first attempted "plans". Was forced to bring in a 3rd party engineer to resolve flagrant issues with the design. Complete lack of understanding of residential roof design. Causing massive delay and over design. Would not recommend them to build an outhouse.

After a nightmarish experience with a crooked contractor, I was left on my own to obtain plans and a permit for my unfinished deck. I reached out to ISTA - their structural engineer Pedram has been nothing short of amazing. He came to my property to verify measurements to make sure the drawings would meet code, spent a great deal of time observing all structures and pointing out in great detail everything that needed to be fixed for safety reasons (things that were missed by my city inspector), offered alternatives to costly fixes, then worked very quickly to draw plans as he empathized with my situation. He even called the city's building department and got everything resolved on the spot. Five minutes after his call, my permit was approved!! And through all this, Pedram was so friendly and empathetic. Everyone in that office I spoke to has been very nice as well. I will definitely use ISTA again for all my future projects.

They got back to us very quickly and Pedram, the Ista Structural Engineer, came to our house that evening. Extremely professional and knowledgeable. A week later, we have plans to pass along to a contractor for removal of a load bearing wall. I recommend them highly and will use them again.
