We contracted through World of Tile in Colorado Springs to have countertops installed in our kitchen. World of Tile subcontracted the installation to iBuild. We had nothing but trouble with them. They showed up late. The person they sent to measure the countertops did a poor job. When they removed the existing tile, they warned us that there would be some damage to the wood countertops because of the 1" overhang on the bullnose tiles, but in places they pulled the wood off almost 6" down--I have photos documenting the damage but there's no place to post them here. The countertop edges were positioned so closely to the edge of the cabinets that we had to saw off half an inch of woodwork so that we could install trim to cover the damaged wood. We made it quite clear that we were unsatisfied with their work but were offered only a halfhearted "I'm sorry" from their installation lead and no offers for helping us with the cost of the repairs their excessive damage required. I would never, ever use this company again.

Response from iBuild, Inc.
The Homeowners signed off on and approved all countertop drawings and measurements. After the installation, they not only signed off on the finished installation and paid the balance (for a project totaling $6K, not $10K) with no complaints or comments, but also told the iBuild installation subcontractors that “the job had been done as expected” and that the customer was “satisfied with the installation.” The Homeowners were not on site during the installation, but were alerted about potential damage to the wood countertop facing/edges as their self-installed tile countertops to be removed included a band of 3” baseboard trim around the cabinet face tops, both glued and nailed on. Sadly, there is no easy way to remove such baseboard trim without peeling off more top layer of cabinet.
