Huffman Inspections

Ron was the most thorough inspector I've experienced.  I shared his report with several friends and colleagues, and they are all amazed at the detail and accuracy of his inspection results.

A home inspection is an extremely important step in the home buying/negotiating process, and helps a home buyer to understand not only the value of a house, but also how much time and money might need to be spent fixing problems associated with a house. Therefore, an inspection should be handled by a knowledgeable, experienced inspector. The inspector from Huffman was a nice person, but in my opinion not very knowledgeable, and my guess would be that he has little experience with home inspections. He encouraged me to ask questions during the inspection, but his typical response to my questions was either "I don't know", or "it will be in the report." Unfortunately, many problems associated with the house, which I believe would have been caught by an experienced inspector, were not in the report. A few examples - a toilet was bolted only on one side (it turned out it was leaking), and the fact that carpet was installed over linoleum, which had previously been installed over hard wood. I fixed these problems at no small expense.  
I wish I could write a more favorable review about Huffman Inspections, and I believe the person who handled this job could be an effective inspector with more experience. However, especially considering the fact that I paid $470 for this inspection, I am disappointed that some relatively obvious problems with the house were not detected.

Ron Huffman and the Huffman Inspections group are outstanding.  I've looked at three houses in the Denver area in the past few months and Ron has been an invaluable help.  He and the other people from his office that he has brought along with him are professional, knowledgable, and friendly.  Ron is clearly a cut above other inspectors I've worked with.  He returns reports same-day and the reports are generated with a computer program that ties photos to each inspection item.  
I literally have pushed back inspection deadlines in order to ensure that Ron, and not anyone else, does my inspections.  I will never use anyone else.
