HERTZ RENT A CAR

This is the third consecutive disappointing rental from Hertz as a corporation.  With the most recent rental in Lakewood, the online reservation system did not match the type of vehicle available at the rental location where I picked up the car.  Most damaging for the reputation of Hertz, I genuinely feel that this company no longer is interested in maintaining its position as the premier car rental agency.  In years past, Hertz quite literally ensured the customer was thrilled with the rental experience.  Not anymore.  The car's exterior was mud caked, the engine rattled and required a quart of oil after the check engine light illuminated, the interior had trash from the previous rental, and the car's mileage and condition induced concern that I might be left stranded in the mountains of Colorado waiting for a tow truck.  For three consecutive rentals with Hertz (only one rental at the Lakewood location), the customer service is progressively getting worse.  Is it the millennial generation employees, or does the Hertz employee training manual no longer emphasize phenomenal customer service?    Hopefully, Hertz is working to find out why it is ranked second to last in the JD Powers customer service ranking, below all except Thrifty.  Regardless, for me, the Hertz gold card membership has lost it's value, I am canceling my gold membership, and for all future rentals I will be using National Car Rental.  http://www.jdpower.com/consumer-ratings/travel/ratings/909201707/2013-North+America+Rental+Car+Satisfaction+Study/index.htm
