They didn't have the stainless sink we wanted but they were happy to work with one we provided to them without any issues. The template guy, Chad, was punctual and also very friendly. We got scheduled quickly and in what would work for our schedule.
The install guys didn't know they were going to have to do a tearout - I should have reviewed the contract more carefully because we didn't have it in there. That threw off their scheduling but things were able to work out. The install guys weren't the cleanest people but blamed it on the fact that there was a lot of extra work - even though my wife offered to clear out under the cabinets to help things along. They did a quality job installing and ended up having to come back the second day because the backsplashes needed extra milling.
I had an issue when I went to install the faucets - but Mike and I were able to work through the issue and he was very patient with my complaints and sent Chad out to help me get the faucets in (we had 5 sinks) and ensure they would fit in each sink.
I thought Mike especially was very concerned with our satisfaction and was very understanding and responsive to our needs.
I like these guys because they are honest and let you know where things stand with the job. They're not a fancy showroom or high volume, and I like that because they all knew my and our job personally and took pride in making sure we were happy with the final outcome.
Don't trust anything Dina tells you about scheduling. She told us that the whole project would be done in one day, we were astounded to hear this, even called her twice to confirm. The countertops took five separate days, and the backsplash another five days, total of 10 days. Dina and Sean are just slimy salespeople, will tell you anything, all lies.
Be extremely cautious about the quality of work they do, almost everything they did needed touch up work. They do NOT have any quality control, if you are not inspecting every inch of their work, watch out. They really don't care about your home.
Communication is a joke with this company. We had them install the backsplash, you can't buy the materials from them. They subcontract the backsplash labor, they didn't speak English, had to constantly call the Foreman who wasn't on site.
"Customers review is totally out of line. Everything was completely over exaggerated including what he spent on the project. The total on the project was $9881.75 with the $750 angie's list discount and was paid in full. The scheduling of this size of a job and the scope of work involved including 3 vanity tops, kitchen, kitchen splash and tear out of all of them would never take just 1 day. I know that Dina would never tell a customer this. She knows that anything that has this much tear out and install will require 2-3 days of work plus another 2-3 days for the tile splash. I'm sure that Shawn even shared this with them in the beginning when he sold the job.The customer has to be mistaken for him thinking the job would take. He probably heard that the tear out would take 1 day and took it that the whole job would be 1 day. And yes sometimes with remodel installations there can be some unforeseen complications that lead to some additional time, however my schedule does not show 10 days of return trips back to the job. This is highly blow out of proportion. As for the mirrors this was a suggestion by the homeowners and we normally don't remove mirrors unless we are asked to. Normally we would just rip the splash down to the correct height and install them under the mirror, not that hard of a solution. I'm not sure why Mr [Member Name Removed] had to buy new mirrors and if so and we were responsible why weren't we sent a bill. He paid his bill entirely with no other discounts, so why we got this angry review I do not know. In closing we try to please every customer we can, however unless we hear what is displeasing with a customer we don't get the opportunity to make it right."
I met Shawn Smith when I arrived and explained what I was looking for. He asked some questions and then went to look through their scrap pieces. He found a beautiful beige piece from which he could cut my piece. I told him it was going to be a Christmas present for my husband and he said he'd call when it was ready. The next day, he called and I picked it up the following day. He sealed the stone with a special sealer and it really looks gorgeous.
I'm having some repairs made to the plant stand. The marble will look beautiful when it is placed into the center of the stand. My husband and I won't want to cover up the marble by putting anything on it!
Service -- It was a pleasure to work with Jackie. Through the entire process she gave me advice, met us at a wholesaler to help us pick our slab, had us come to their shop to approve where the template was placed on the slab, and always responded promptly and professionally, and was there for us from beginning to end.
Installation -- The templating and the installation and plumbing hook up all went smoothly. They were on time, polite and professional.
Promptness -- Although we spent 6 weeks on the process, it was only because we spent lots of time looking for the granite slab, asking Jackie for advice, and making decisions. It only took them a few days to schedule the templating and just under a week to schedule the installation.
Problems -- The only problems we encountered were that the plumber installed the garbage disposal on the side of the sink where I didn't want it, but it was on the side that is "should" be on. I was just not paying attention and hadn't told him otherwise. When I saw the problem, he re-installed it for a small fee. There was also an error on the billing which they sent to me to check, but I didn't catch it until a few weeks later - that we had paid for an item we had discussed but decided not to do. When I brought this to Jackie's attention, she promptly issued a refund.
We love our countertops and would wholeheartedly recommend Granite&Marble Design.
