Extreme Roofing

After deciding to go with a Timberline Class 4 shingle, which cost us more than what our insurance would cover, we didn't wait too long for the shingles to arrive. When the shingles were delivered they were placed on our roof, where they sat for about a month in the hot summer. We found out the reason for the delay was because the crew who would be putting on our roof was not certified to do so in our area and there was only one other crew that was busy doing other homes. We were given the option (or put in between a rock and a hard spot) to let them put the roof on while we were out of town or wait up to 2 more weeks! When we got home, my husband noticed the diagonal lines were crooked, which makes it look as though there is something wrong with our roof. After telling the crew's supervisor, his response was, and quot;I hoped you wouldn't notice.and quot; While cleaning up my back yard after my dogs, I found a tape measure and a couple of knives from the roofers who had been there previously. Sloppy work.

Our roof does pass inspection, but as a homeowner, we like our house to look pleasing to the eye. Being we are on a busy corner, we consider this a bit of embarrassment. We tried calling the guy we dealt with only to find out he resigned before he got fired, he was promising people (us included) things he wasn't authorized to. For instance, the money our insurance doesn't cover, that comes out of our pocket, we have to pay it right away instead of the 6 months, he had told us. We also didn't get our shed done since he shorted us on shingles.
