CUSTOM WOODWORKING AND CARPENTRY

I was recommended to Eric by someone else that I had originally hired to build out the entertainment center. When they came by and saw what I was looking for they said I would need someone who could do custom work. Eric came by with wood selections, we reviewed my design, he made some recommendations, and then forwarded me a proposal with an estimate and references. I checked his references and they were all very good. I signed a contract with him and paid him half up front. Paying so much up front was a little concerning, but since most of this type of work is labor, it is understandable. Eric remained in touch with me throughout the project. He invited me out to see the work as it progressed since he was building it in his shop. He offered, and we discussed, different suggestions during the course of the project, and he made modifications based on those discussions. When it came time for the install, he brought all of the pieces out, and built it right into the house. In addition, during the install, we made several adjustments and changes based on discussions as it took shape. In the end, I got a one of a kind piece, made of a beautiful birds-eye maple, that fits perfectly into my house. The price came in a little higher than the proposal, but these costs were all due to changes made and agreed upon. The only thing that was less than ideal is that the project took 2 months longer than originally planned. This was due to other jobs that he had running over. In the end, it was worth the wait.
