Color By Design

Nice guys but VERY sloppy and not good at following through on things that he promised to fix.
1. There is a good deal of the trim that we paid for that was done very poorly and now looks like it is a different color.
2. There are many exterior windows and interior windows that have paint splattered on them from spraying. Customer should not have to beg to get these done.
3. Painters splattered TONS of pain on brand new slate bathroom floor AFTER I asked them to use drop cloths. 
4. Tons of OVER-SPRAY marks where they just were sloppy. I asked them to take care of them...they said they would. Asked a number of times but nothing. 
5. Top trim of the house missed.
6. Sprayed inside of mud-room and did not bother to clean up before or after, which meant that dust that was on the floor of mud-room is now caked into the floor.
I contacted Scott with the above issues and he did not even bother to return my email. 
OH...and we were on a very tight deadline and during the middle of the job, he left to go do another 2 day job, instead of just simply finishing our job.
I have talked with others who recommended to him and the experience was similar--nice guy but messed up some important details. 
Pretty disappointing. He surely does not treat your house like it was his own. 

No issues whatsoever.  If you are able to get an estimate with him and have him do work, consider yourself lucky.  Very busy, and for a good reason.

I contacted Scott Wald through "Color by Design", he came out to the house, and gave us a very fair estimate for the job we were askiing him to do. He was very helpful with suggestions and we are very pleased with the results. I do plan to use "Color by Design" again in the future and highly recommend this company to everyone. 

Scott and his partner Mark were wonderful in every way and far exceeded our expectations both in quality of work and overall value for the price quoted. They arrived promptly each day, made color recommendations if asked to do so, and respected our time, privacy (stay-at-home with 3 kids) and pocketbook. The quality of work is superior. Both had great attention to detail - trim work was meticulous. We've worked with several other painters in the past with so-so luck. This experience was by far the best we've had. Our home looks wonderful now - recently purchased - built in 2003 and was painted in "builder's beige." We will definitely use them again.
