We were extremely happy with the work on both projects. The laundry room required essentially gutting the existing dated "closet" and starting from scratch. He added a pocket door, moved the interior light, tiled, did some plumbing work, and painted. The room looks very contemporary now compared to the dated 30 year old closet it once was. Since the remodel we have had no issues or problems.
The second job was to replace and install 13 shaker doors. Once again, he was very professional. We also asked him to polyurethane the doors which he did with three coats. No short cuts there. The doors look great.
We will continue to use him for future projects. He takes pride in his work. His prices are very reasonable and he always responds to us when we leave a message.

The skylight appeared to be repaired well. In February I noticed water damaged and contacted Chris in early March to come review the situation. Chris set a time and date to come out and review, but did not show up. Since then I have emailed twice and called and left messages twice to no avail. I tried to patient as I know that he is busy and I would have been reasonable/negotiable regarding the further repairs, however, now I cannot get a hold of Chris. My only recourse at this time is Angie's List and the BBB.

"Chris’ Repair Service has been in business for more than eight years and I take great pride in the work provided, my integrity and ability to stand by my work. All of my business is built on referrals alone, and I’ve never had to address a complaint of this nature. As stated I came out in July 2011, at that time, I made an assessment of the damage and made a repair – inspected, cleaned skylight, used all weather caulking around skylight. From what I could see and reach from my ladder, I let the client know that I saw many nail “pops” and that the damage could be caused by the swamp cooler. Due to what I could see, and knowing there was much I couldn’t see from the ladder, I explicitly stated that a roofer needed to be called. In fact, in normal circumstances I warrantee all my for 90 days, but due to those numerous nail “pops” and questions about the swamp cooler being the source of this leak, I let the customer know that this fell out of range of the warrantee. Even so, by February, it was more than seven months since the work took place and my repairs obviously weathered several storms since work was complete. For these reasons, I don’t think it is fair, nor reasonable to expect a refund at this late date. Nevertheless, I can understand the frustration and upset caused by our missed appointment. Unfortunately, earlier this year, I was admittedly stretched thin due to a family matter that required intermittent, unpredictable, unforeseen travel out of the areas. To rectify this situation, I would like the opportunity to come out, free of charge, to diagnose the source of the leak and at a minimum offer counsel on how to proceed. Sincerely, Chris George"
