on 1/23/16, I called neighborhood garage door repair because my door would not go all the way down to close. Original trip charge was $89 and Marie said she would drop it to $40. She also said the tech will assess the repairs,give a quote before starting. The tech arrived, noticed that the tension spring was too tight and said he would adjust it. This took 10 mins max. He then went to the garage door main box and started adjusting the settings until he got the door to go all the way down. Problem fixed. He came back with a $250 invoice. I was shocked. He showed me the price sheet on his phone that said Tension Spring $280. He said he will waive thrip fee and also $30 off. I asked if the price was for replacing the springs he just said that was the price. I told him I had the springs replace last year for a total cost of $125. He apologized about the cost. I paid with intent to contact the company for explanation and credit. I called right after the tech left and was told I would need to call customer service on Monday. I called today (Monday). Spoke with a manager (Ashley) explained the situation. She told me the charge was for Tensio Spring service installation. I told her again that there was nothing installed, no parts required. She just kept referring to the invoice and said she was where the buck stopped. I asked for the owner contact info and her bosses info, she refused. I called ha k to the local number on the invoice hoping to get someone at the main office and just got another manager who knew my situation and said Ashley was a new manager and did not know the price was for any adjustments as well. I again asked for someone higher up and was told there was no one else. After asking 4 times I wnas told that Jessica a higher up Manager would call me back. Of course this has yet to happen. What a rip off process and company.
