CHIMNEY JACK

GREAT! They were there on time, quick and efficient. Gave us what else needed to be done, but no pressure. Would definitely use them again.

At best the experience was OK. They showed up and did the work. They provided a bid which I assumed meant that they would try and blend the rebuild work to make it look like the rest of the wall that was still there. A mason showed up and was unsure of where to get matched brick, did not want to color grout to match rest of wall and did not know how to cap column to match rest of wall. It took alot of work on our part to get him there. This is second time wall was hit and needed rebuilt. He asked why we didnt use previous company to rebuild the wall. I was asking myslef that same question.

Frankly, I don't know how they calculate the "grades" here...and considering all the As, the average they come up with doesn't seem quite fair. My experience was great, so I feel compelled to leave a review saying so. They called a few days in advance to let me know when they were coming, arrived on time, and were super courteous (even declined to park on my driveway after I said they could--because they said the truck leaked oil). Scored points right there. They worked in super windy and less than ideal conditions and maintained a good attitude the whole time. They cleaned up before they left, and I was happy with the end result. We had some scary looking brickwork (this is a 1939 house) that is way less scary now. I'm very grateful for that. They also charged a more than fair price, so I can only say that I have no complaints and would definitely recommend them.

David arrived on time, set up, told us what he was going to do, gave us his evaluation of what needed to be done and proceeded to do it. It took approximately 1/2 hour, start to finish. He didn't leave a trace at all that he had been here except a fireplace that was ready to keep us warm and cozy.

The original work was performed by Chimney Jack on our chimney's in 2007. Part of the home inspection during the sale of our house showed significant deterioration of all of the repair work that was done 9 years ago. ?We don't expect repairs to last forever, but the basic tuck pointing and caps should certainly have lasted longer that 9 years. The middle and lower portions of the chimneys, which didn't require repair work are still in good shape after 117 years! So, we contacted Chimney Jack to see what they would do. They replied that their warranty period is 5 years and:? "It would certainly have been desirable for the chimneys to have lasted longer, but with the variety of weather ? hail, rain, snow and wind sometimes they can deteriorate sooner than planned." I wish we could post a picture of the deterioration - ALL of the mortar they applied, including the caps is completely cracked and broken - and none of it seems to have adhered to the original bricks since it is also "peeling" off. OK, so we asked how much they would charge to re-repair our chimneys. After getting no response and then incorrect responses from their office staff, we finally heard back they'd charge MORE per chimney than they originally charged to repair. F.

Not only did he not bring any supplies to patch or do any work more than a simple cleaning - he didn't even clean the ash box!!! I was very upset and the tech was actually pretty rude!! Wish the last chimney sweep we had didn't go out of business. I would not recommend these people at all!!!

3/14/2014I hired Chimney Jack to install a liner to our boiler. I found out there was a problem with it when our carbon monoxide detectors sounded. Levels were so high the fire department had to mask up to enter our house. Turns out, Chimney Jack had trouble getting the liner down the chimney, so they taped things together and hoped for the best. Never told me any of this. To their credit, they came out quickly and determined how to properly fix the problem. Only trouble is that fix cost me almost $4000 and left us without heat and hot water for 9 days

The service person arrived 15 minutes early, and performed the cleaning and inspection very quickly and professionally. He was done in about 30 minutes. I was very pleased with the service we received.

They came out but said they can't do anything so get a refund. Very nice would highly recommend.

The individual was on time, performed the cleaning fast and left no dust/dirt afterwards. And the price was very reasonable. I will use them (and recommend) again. Great service from Jake.

The service went well. He put down heavy drop cloths to prevent a mess in my home. He brought in his gear and cleaned the chimney. After cleaning up, he left! The service was less than an hour.

Chimney Jack personnel were extremely professional. They were prompt, efficient and very neat.  Our project took four days but over a two week period due to the unusual rain we had. They called or physically checked on the project to assure readiness. The work area was cleaned daily and at the conclusion of the project. We would definitely use them again. We love our new privacy wall!

Very well.  Estimator on time, called to schedule starting job before anticipated date, were waiting for me to get started.  Very neat.  Estimator very good about explaining process, addressing my concerns about other items (no upselling).  Plan to call them to take a look at chimney flashing, cracks after our 1000-year rain/flood in September.

We purchased one of Angie's List deals for our chimney cleaning.    Very convenient, we handled the scheduling online.  The company was very quick to respond to our emails.  On the day of the cleaning the serviceman was a few minutes late (he got  lost) no big deal.  When he arrived he was very quick and professional, did a really good job.  He inspected our chimney thoroughly and said it was in good shape, but recommended we purchase a chimney cap.  I am in the process of doing so and will contact Chimney Jack to do the job.

Great!  Will use them again.  Came on time.  Listened to everything I told them.  Did great work.

They did an excellent job and they charged me small fee.

Evidently the original serviceman was sick, but instead of canceling, Chimney Jack called a reputable serviceman to do the job. Due to other cancellations, he called early to see if he could perform my cleaning early and was understanding with my constraints.
