I highly regret doing business with this company. Our house had catastrophic water damage after a supply line broke when we were not home. Belfor (Contractor was Kevin M.) repaired almost our entire house while we moved out. It is now 2.5 years since the repair work and since we moved back into our home, and the very poor work quality and cut corners are coming through in everything they did. They cut many corners that we must now deal with (at a large expense). Severe problems with the wood floor, ripples in the all of the bedroom carpets, and I could go on and on. Belfor counts on their 1 year "warranty" and does work that will get you by for a year, but it is not quality work. Beware that if your whole house is repaired by them you will likely be dealing with house repair expenses for a long time after the year warranty to fix all of their poor work.

45 days after buying and moving into our first home, the unimaginable happened. Our 100+ year-old building suffered a roof collapse. For the next 2 years, our Belfor Property Management Team, lead by Kevin & Mike, did an amazing job navigating our unique and complex path of creating engineering plans, pulling permits, demoing, rebuilding, restoring, renovating, and bringing our building up to code. And because it’s a condo, Kevin worked tirelessly with 8 different insurance policies - fighting for what was right on our behalf. The work is solid, and I’m thankful that we had such a skilled, transparent partner for this complex job. I hope you NEVER need to call on property restoration services - but if you do, Belfor Property Restoration restored much more than property for us.

We bought a home that had just had a major renovation completed by Belfor Property Restoration due to a flood from a pipe freeze. You don't really know a home till you live in it and a home inspection can only catch so much. After living in this home for two days we saw so much in terms of poor workmanship, improper installs, code violations, incomplete work, the list goes on. After reaching out to them to stand behind their work, they declined. I would never hire this company EVER to do anything. There was no pride of workmanship displayed anywhere. We have spent a small fortune correcting all their mistakes. The common statement we have gotten from the qualified HVAC guy, or the plumber, or the appliance repair guy is "who did this work?? It's horrible." If you have an insurance company that recommends them, insist on another recommendation......and change your insurance company too if they insist on using them.

There was a problem in the basement, a flooded basement. They were very responsive, very timely, did excellent work in a timely fashion. It was an emergency situation they responded very well.

They were absolutely fabulous! They were terrific! They were on time with their subcontractors, they were punctual, they were easy to deal with, they did absolutely excellent work, and cleaned up everyday. I can't say enough good about them. Once they started, they were done in 6 weeks with everything. One bedroom was destroyed, and so they had to do carpeting. They matched the paint, they matched the column with the other 3 columns. They were wonderful to work with.

I spoke with them and they gave me some of the places they have done. They had a folder and everything and they discussed it. I just felt that since that was what they did pretty much that they were the company to go with because they did everything. They didn’t just say to find other company that wasn’t really anxious to do the job. They could do the roof but they couldn’t do the other stuff easily and this is the company that that’s what they do so that’s why I chose them and I’m just very happy to do so and they did a wonderful job.

When my house was robbed, the burglar broke the glass in my back door. My insurance company called Belfor for emergency board-up. Response time for the board-up was fantastic. They were there in less than 2 hours and did a solid job of boarding up the broken window in the door. An appraiser from Belfor came out the next morning to appraise the damage and give an estimate, both for my insurance claim and as an estimate if I wanted Belfor to do the work. Both the insurance company and Belfor emphasized several times that I was not obligated to have Belfor do the work.
I didn't have anyone else in mind (should have used Angie's List!) so I tried to contact Belfor to do the work after shopping for a new door. I waited too long. In the meantime there were heavy rains causing significant flooding in other areas of town. Belfor was slammed with other work. After that I had a hard time contacting them to schedule my work. I wound up asking the appraiser for a referral for someone else to fix the door.
Belfor was great for emergency repair and appraisal, but based on my one experience, I should have shopped around to find another contractor to do the repair work.

It was all covered through my insurance company. We had a pipe that burst in the basement. We ended up ripping everything down ourselves just because a lot of people had their pipes burst. Our neighbor was actually able to help us out with getting that pipe clipped so that we had running water in the house. Other people didn’t even have water running in their house. It took them a while for them to actually come out after we had called because there were lots of people in the area without water. When they were able to come out, we had already even dried the carpet. They were able to just come in and then give us an estimate. The workers were all really great. Everything looked fantastic. It was actually subcontracted to a drywall person. We were thinking about hiring them to finish our garage. There was some communication issue even though we understood that it was a very busy time. We ended up having to go through a couple of different foremen that came out here and told us what was really going on. It was a little bit kind of a mess beginning. I think it was mainly due to everybody being so busy. They are a huge company and they are supposed to be well equipped. They were great on the phone but it was really hard to get somebody to actually come to my house when we had an appointment scheduled. Once they got out here they were very punctual.

It was an insurance job, so I'm not too sure on the price. I was totally impressed with them. They ripped out the drywall and fixed the eve of the house. The foreman was excellent. The people that did the work were really good. They were very professional about the house, time, and getting it done. I never had to call them. They were always on the money.

I had a flooded basement and hired Belfor to fix the damage. After they finished, they said the basement was dry. I then decided to take up the linoleum tiles and replace them with ceramic tiles. When we pulled the linoleum tiles up, there was moisture under them. Had I not pulled them up, I believe that mold or mildew could have grown there. I paid Belfor in full shortly after the project finished. During a routine check of my credit a few weeks later, however, I saw their name listed on my credit record. They had inquired into my credit, and that inquiry had a negative impact. When I called them, I was told that 1)the negative impact of a credit inquiry is "minor", 2)that I had authorized the inquiry when I authorized them to begin work, and 3)this is their routine business practice. Why would a company have a policy that it knew would negatively impact the credit of all their customers???
