I called several outfits and no one could come in the two day window I had remaining since they were all booked doing the same service for people who had better planning skills. I found a tag on my boiler with Ball Mechanical?s phone number. I called and left a message. Late that day, about the time I gave up hope, he called me back. When I explained my situation, he said he happened to be nearby and asked if he could come over immediately. I said yes and he showed up about 10 minutes later. He was very helpful and thorough and specializes in old boilers. He even remembered doing some work on this boiler with his father some years ago. He explained a lot about how the system works and even topped off the system with water and bled the radiators upstairs, even though that was not part of the service I had requested. I thought he was great and he really bailed me out of a jam. I don't think he charged me an excessive amount even though he knew I was in a bind.
