I called AFW several times over the next day or two with no response, and finally went to the store on the weekend. I was given numerous phone numbers to call, none of which helped me straighten out exchanging the stove. I went back the following weekend, and sent the salesman photos showing the scratches and discolorations, and he said that he sent them to their GE rep, but that I may have to pay a "restocking" fee of 25% since the stove was used, (I was supposed to go for several weeks without being able to cook because they chose not to handle my issue in a timely manner??) In the mean time, I've noticed that this older model stove often doesn't turn down the heat when you turn down the controls. I haven't heard from the GE rep either.
I also contacted Brand Source, which is AFW's installation company, and the managers were at first very conciliatory, stating that they would send someone out to fix the poor installation. The night before he was supposed to come out the tech called and told me I'd have to pay to fix the installation. I told him I would not pay to fix his error, and reminded him that I had told him on the phone that if their was a problem with the granite that he should not install the downdraft and he flat out lied, and said "that never happened." The next day, I called his manager, who had previously said he would make sure it was fixed, said they had to charge me again, because they couldn't send a tech out for half a day without pay. So evidently the technicians work only on what they're paid by the client, which explains why an installation that was supposed to cost $290 cost $475!! I sent him numerous pictures of the installation problems, and he (the manager agreed that he could see it was not centered or placed correctly, but that he would have to speak to "his manager" before he could help me. He said he would call me the next day, which was the day before Thanksgiving.) He did not call, and it has been 6 days. Today I called Brand Source "President's Hotline", which as near as I can tell is nothing but an answering machine, because this is the second time I've called it, and have not yet received a response of any kind.
So, AFW sent me the wrong stove, deliberately I believe, and their installation company is incompetent at best, and installed it completely ****-eyed, and will not do anything to correct their error.
DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!!
