ANIMAL CRITICAL CARE & EMERGENCY SERVICES

I took my cat in (Tripod, a three-legged feral cat who I captured and took in a few years ago) on a Monday evening and they saw us right away and within 30 minutes Dr. Israel told me that he had a bladder obstruction and outlined my options.  They were upfront regarding the costs and I decided to go ahead and try the catheterization in the hopes that it would work.  Unfortunately within 24 hours it was apparent that Tripod had some other issues (a bladder tumor) so I went back and the vet was very reassuring when I made the decision to euthanize him.  

I can't tell you how much I appreciated the compassion of the staff, especially considering I had just been through a dreadful experience at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital a month before with a dog of mine that cost me a considerable amount of money and my dog a great deal of pain with it ultimately ending in the dog being euthanized.  I am still trying to leave feedback on them which I will do today finally, as I am clearer about what should have happened and where they failed. 

Regardless, I will go to Animal Critical Care Emergency Services from now on after having been a client of Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital for the past 25 years.  The ACCES agenda lies in the best possible care of the animal and not in money - I can't stress that enough.  I will recommend them to everyone I know because of their compassion and kindness and direct assessment of the situation.  

Using ACCESS for emergency pet services is the way to go in the Denver/Lakewood area.

The Animal Doctor is always great! The receptionists are fantastic and everyone is very understanding and knowledgeable. They are accommodating and have great hours, even weekends and a night time emergency number. They have a caring environment for pets.

Dr. O'Rourke is a very knowledgeable and gentle veterinarian. The emergency service did not take as long as I expected. They are very available, organized, and less expensive than other emergency vet services.
