The technicians were highly qualified: found the first leak... came back and repaired it and poured new concrete, found the second leak... came back and repaired it and poured new concrete. They were professional, highly trained, and professional. We will hire them in the future for any leaks.

He found the cause of the leak. Took pictures so the company that was going to do the work could fix the problem. Referred a Plumbing company. Great company! Would use them again and have referred them to other people.

The technicians found the leak in the wall. They did an excellent job and solved the problem. I'd hire them again without a doubt.

If you are going to be late, like 3 hours, please call me. I like to have companies call me 30 minutes before they arrive. They called me, and said the guy would be out to my house in 30 minutes. The man who came out was knocking on my door within a few minutes of calling me. He told me that he could leave, and come back. In the end I was not very happy with the service.

Evaluation was incomplete which is surprising since the problem (it was later discovered) was not that complicated. Also, the fact that they don't actually do the repair is a cunning way to avoid accountability. PASS!

Wonderful experience. David was great. He knew what to do, went about doing it and then spent some time with me explaining how it was repaired. He called before the appointment time and told us he would arrive at the expected time, which was in 30 minutes. When he did arrive, he went right to work, spent two full hours diagnosing and looking for the leak. Our concern was that the leak was probably in the water line under the concrete driveway. That would mean a very expensive repair, requiring removal of a portion of the driveway, repairing the leak and then pouring new concrete. After two hours, David announced the good news. He had plugged the leak with debris that was in the line, forced into the leaking hole by the gas pressure he applied to the line itself. WOW!!! What a relief. Job well done. No additional cost for having to deal with a nasty driveway issue. Cost would have been $300 for this service ($275 for Angie's list members) but we purchased an Angie's List Deal for $225 which made it. If the plug gets unstuck I guess we will just have to go back to Dave. But, he said, from his experience, this type of plug should hold.

I called American leak detection services to locate an old gas line that have been abandoned many years ago in our 1937 home. We wanted to reconnect the gas to install gas fireplaces. After many fireplace, furnace, and gas providers had gone through without success, American leak detection was able to find the line quickly and at a reasonable price. We now have gas fireplaces. I wish I had called them at the beginning!

Scheduling was good and they came out quickly at a time that met my schedule needs.  One thing is that they indicated they would provide me a written report but I am still waiting on the report.  I expected the report the next day. The tech was on-time and seemed knowledgeable.  The price was reasonable.

Technician was running late due to other jobs but overall I was happy with results.

I showed the technician the problem and where we saw water appear in the basement from the above shower.  He spent at least 20 minutes researching the issue and testing.  He was able to resolve where the water was leaking from.  He fixed one source and the other source was going to require a rebuild of the tiled shower seat.  He gave recommendations for resolving that.

He also inspected our whole house and made recommendations above and beyond just addressing the leak.

I appreciated his advice and very happy that he was able to detect the leak sources without having to tear into anything.  Glad we bought this service.

They found a leak we were having difficulty finding.  It was located several feet from where we thought it might be.  This service saved us more money than it cost.  Instead of pulling dry wall all over the place, we only had to remove a few square feet in an out of way area.  We were very happy with the service.  Fred was on time and was very professional.

This went really well -- technician charged less than the originally quoted price. How often does that happen?

had water in my basement from an unknown source.  They found a leak from the jets from the jetted tub in my basement.  He worked his way up to confirm that their weren't any leaks coming from anywhere else.  Specifically I was worried about leaks possibly coming from pipes under the concrete slab.  He checked via a listening device and no other leaks were detected.  I got a same day appointment and the technician was very thorough. I said that I needed a report for the insurance company.  He said  he would email it to me.  He did not which delayed the progression of my claim with the insurance company.  I called a week later and got it.

They did not find the leak. They found a place they said they thought it was coming from, but as it turned it they didn't. The technician that came out seemed arrogant and was sure he knew what was causing the leak, but he was incorrect. I will not use them in the future.

Based on increased water bill we knew that there was a water leak. Initial call was to a plumber who couldn't determine location of leak because of lack of equipment and they recommended American Leak Detection. They came right out and performed static pressure test on main water line in house. Determined that leak is on cold water line. Using electronics and traceable gas they found leak under hot water heater. After discovery I asked if they could fix the leak. They gave me an estimate of 1950.00 and I asked them to proceed. They drained and pulled water heater, removed concrete in hot water heater room and 2' outside door. Found leak and 2 others on 1/2" cold line, also 1 on 3/4" cold line. Replaced 8' of 3/4" copper water line. Refilled sand gravel under concrete and reset water heater. Re-connected floor with new cement and purged all lines with no leaks or movement found.

He told us to drop the level of the water in the pool which we did all of August. He didn't tell us that the vinyl liner would collapse the pool if it were empty. The pool was down to about five inches when we got back from Seattle. He hadn't been out to check on it but he told us to fill the pool back up with water, which cost a lot of money. Then he came out to fix the leak that he probably could have fixed a month earlier without doing all of that. He did the job, but we didn't feel like he was there for us. They are about the only game in town. They were overpriced for what they did. We thought they were negligent and didn?t stay in touch. We would only use them if we have to.

Water bills for last several months showed a increase in number of gallons used causing concern that a water leak was occurring somewhere in the house which is a brick ranch on a concrete slab (no basement or crawl space). Initially conctacted Denver Water to do an inspection to make sure the leak was not under city control. They confirmed their part was not at fault and that a leak was happening either in water using appliance or in the water pipes. Contacted a plumber on Jan 29 who was to check out the problem on Feb1. Feb 1 plumber advised that based on their preliminary review I did have a leak but they could not help in determining where it was and they don't deal with subfloor concrete digout and repair. They recommended American Leak Detection as a company that could assist (350.00) to pin point location to minimize floor / wall destruction and repair costs. I called them while the original plumber was still there and they arrived at the house within an hour of my call. With their equipment, they found the leak in less than an hour which was located in the laundry room under the water heater. Since I had no plumber I found out that ALD could do the repair. I was so impressed with Frank the technician that after being provided an estimate he agreed to return first thing the next morning to fix the leaks. Frank arrived on time at 0850am and worked until 415pm. During the course of the work additional holes / small leaks were found requiring water heater to be moved, concrete demo, pipes replaced, holes filled with gravel / sand/ concrete poured, water heater replaced. Frank rechecked several times with the detection equipment to ensure all leaks were found and his fixes were complete. He cleaned the work area and wiped the floors and walls where he worked. All debris (pipes, concrete, bags, excess dirt ) was picked up and removed from the property. I was very pleased that the work could be done so quickly and that Frank was so professional. I felt he was very honest and kept me advised of his findings and the work he was doing. He gave me the initial estimate which based on what else he was finding in the course of his work I was concerned that the estimate would be changed with a higher price tag. Not the case and the charge was the estimate quoted.

A complete waste of $350.00. He was condescending from the get-go. When I questioned his method to test the presence of a leak, he told me that he knows much more than me and that if I could reproduce the problem in his presence, he would then find the leak (after charging me more money of course). My plumber had no trouble demonstrating the leak but the American Leak Detection guy would not try that method.

After they looked around, they found a small leak in the pool. We opted to repair the leak ourselves though. They did a good job and did it quickly also. There were no problems and we were thankful for this service.
