Crew was late, unprepared, and unprofessional. I saw one of them looking in the medicine cabinet in my bathroom. He denied it when I confronted him. The final straw: they left urine all over the toilet seat when they left on day one of a three day job. When the owner refused to replace the crew, or to come out and supervise them on day two and three, I fired them. Stay away from this company.

We spent several weeks & shopped 5-6 suppliers, both higher & lower prices, and checked 'quality' reviews for many hardwood manufacturers. We settled on Somerset Hardwoods ( located in Kentucky ), and chose "A PLUS Hardwood floors" for multiple reasons: friendly, professional, easy to work with, knowledgeable, & Tasha let us take large samples home for several days, &, a real boost was FREE delivery, inside, where we needed it (39 cartons @ 65 lbs. each) The order arrived in Denver 3 weeks later, had it delivered soon after, by an extremely competent young man, Austin. We offered to help, but he did most of the lifting. My installer has now worked through 32 cartons, finding very few unusable pieces ( high quality). I was told to order 10% extra; I only ordered about 7% overage, & it still looks like we're going to have some left over. I'm sure we can use that on a future project. I am glad we chose A Plus Hardwood -- I would definitely give a good referral to anyone.

A+ Hardwood floors did a great job! I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

These people know their stuff. The floors are beautiful and we can't tell where the old flooring starts and the new flooring begins. We used their clean sweep service and that was great. Their was hardly any dust anywhere. I have had hardwood installed once before, at another house, and that went ok. Now that I have experienced a great job, I won't hire anyone else for hardwood.

We had some concerns about the stains and finishes because I remembered the last time I had floors installed, it smelled in the house for months. We had the floors installed while we were gone, and used the water base option they offer. I could hardly smell anything when we got home. The entire staff is very accommodating and helpful. They went out of their way to help with the stain choices, and even brought us out a board with the stain choices we were trying to decide between. They also found that the damage under the fridge was a little worse that we even suspected, and a part of the subfloor needed replaced. They said that if I had a piece of plywood, they would repair it and not charge us. Another example of great customer service.

I was impressed that Michael the sales man was able to meet with me to discuss the process on a Saturday. I was equally impressed that the trip charge to Bennett, CO was waived.

Very well.  The people that worked on my floors were very friendly; and they were helpful as to what I should and should not put on my floors before they are completely cured.  When I asked them to come back to do a couple minor flaws, they were wiling to do what I asked of them.  I met the owner of the company and he is very customer oriented.  I have referred a family member to this company.  I had a good experience with A+ Hardoow floors and would call them again.

A+ came recommended to me from a co-worker so I called them. I don't know if it's a francise business or not but my shout out goes to A+ Hardwood  Flooring  on SHeridan Blvd.  I had inquired to several different Flooring Companies and A+ came in at about half the cost, using the same products, guarantees and time frame so I went with them. I am very happy. The floors look fantastic, very little mess, very professional staff and trustworthy.
Unbelievably, we spilled some hair dye on a section of the floor not, 2months after they were finished. The owner of the company, Larry I think, came out to address the issue. The dye came right out, he refinished it and didn't charge me a thing! I also had just replaced some wooden hand rails and I wanted to match them to the hardwood floors and he brought me out product to do that too at no additional cost. Now thats customer service!  I highly recommend this company and will use them in the future.

The project went well.  It started and ended as promised.  Only problem - the office had given the wrong phone number to the workers and they could not contact us with their arrival time.

Excellent! A+ was responsive and on time with everything. Our floors look brand new and there was not a speck of dust in our house when we re-entered. Additionally, the workers went well above and beyond the call of duty by repairing a leak in our sprinkler system that a neighbor had reported while we were out of the home. Thank you!!!

We live in Evergreen, CO and wanted to change out some of the carpeting in our basement to engineered hardwood flooring. After bidding out to other companies, we selected A+ Hardwood Floors to do the job. The floor has just been completed and looks wonderful! A+ did an excellent installation job from start to finish. With competitive pricing, responsive customer service, and first-class results, we found A+ lived up to it's name.

Aaron, the salesman, was late for our original appt/had an abrupt manner.  He did, however, answer all of our questions/addressed concerns with a lot of confidence in A+ abilities and  we decided to move forward.  The size and cost was in line with a previous install we had (a very nicely done addition onto an existing floor).  A+ scheduling was very accomodating and the person who tented the house was great.  The install team was professional.  After the floor install, we noticed that the joints where the wood pieces connected appeared a little 'choppy', but assumed that the sanding would smooth out the appearance.  We were told the told the team to sand would arrive the next morning but they did not and our plans had to be juggled.   We then left town for the sealing phase and did not return until the job was complete.    In general, the job done was done adequately, but  lack of attention to details left us feeling unsatisfied about certain things.* New floor is good - color is nice, although it still appears a little 'choppy' where the boards connect.  With the furniture in the room it is not as noticable and the floor looks nice.  * Place were new floor and old kitchen floor meet was not finished properly - the edge of the wood is still raw in color and the linolium is cut too deeply/not sealed.  We did say that in the next few months we were going to replace the kitchen floor, but the edging was left much more 'undone' than I would have expected.  When a quality control company rep came out to look at an unrelated item he saw the edging (I hadn't even mentioned it and he didn't know we were going to replace the other floor) and suggested we should caulk the area.  * New floor and old floor coloring are off.....I understand floors yellow over time but we were lead to believe by Aaron the sanding process of the old floor would make an even pallet for the old and new floor to flow together color wise. In our last addition install this was the case - old and new floors flowed perfectly with color.* Old floor cracks were not filled in - This was actually our biggest concern in the whole project and we specifically addressed it with Aaron who assured us the A+ fill-in process would take care of all cracks......per my untrained eye the cracks are all still there.* We knew our floor-boards would need repainting, but they are pretty hacked up compared to our previous experience - in one place a nail is sticking out about half an inch and in another the top piece is missing.  Plus, there is a two inch gouge in our living room wall.  * Around our carpeted stairs area the sealant used pooled quite a bit and in others the sealant appears to have been added on unevenly leaving 'shadows' on the floor.
When not under close inspection the flooring is fine, but a little more attention to details/results more in line with what Aaron represented would have made it much better.  Standing on its own, the new install is nice and we think would rate a B (good), but when added with the issues noted for the resanding/old floor it brings the project to a C (fair).

I called A+ Hardwood to refinish my floors. They crew was late each morning! They rushed through the job. The color was great but the last coat was so bubbly that it looked really bad. The trim they said might need some touch up paint (I said no problem) turns out they cut into it so bad that there was a groove in it were it meets the floor. I called Larry to come out and look at it. At first he tried to say it was (walk off) when after you walk on it for awhile the bumps will go away. And that the trim was not that bad and could be caulked and painted. Neither was true! Finally he said he would come back and recoat the floor and get it right but still though that it was good. Four days later they came and did it again. We had to stay in a hotel ( they took that off are bill) and when we came home it was better. I'm still not happy about the whole floor but at this point I wanted never for them to come back to my house or even here the accuses from Larry. The parts that they remanded are wavy. The color is not the same and I replaced all my trim. They paid for the materials. I should have asked for them to pay my labor. If you are going to get your floors done. Do not call them. This is the only contractor off Angie's list I've had problems with! And if they make a response to this review it's a lie.
Response from A+ Hardwood Floors
"As the customer states, we came to his house to assess what issues he was having. He was unahppy with the final coat so we put another coat down and, as he states, paid for his hotel expense. Our estimate states, "Trim will occasionally be slightly damaged due to sanding procedure. Homeowner can remove trim to avoid any damages." The customer knew the possibility of damage and chose not to remove the trim. Some damage was done during sanding, he complained about this and we paid for his new trim, as he states. We are unsure of how much more we could have done to make him happy. We addressed his concerns and did everything he asked."

They were fairly prompt and they finished the job within the allotted time frame. At first, I thought they did a good job. However, I have age-related impaired vision and upon close examination, discovered that the finish was rough. It wasn?t smooth like previous hardwood finishes I?ve experienced.

Upon mentioning this to Brittany, the company rep who answers the phone, she sloughed it off as a walk-off problem. Upon further research, I found that walk-off might be the solution for a few problem spots or blemishes, but not for an entire floor. The new residents, one of whom is an experienced property manager, complained that it was difficult to walk barefoot/shoeless on such abrasive flooring.

They agreed that either the finishing sanding hadn?t been done or done properly or that something went awry with the finish application.

Upon contacting Brittany again, she agreed to have Larry (the owner) meet me at the site to see what could be done. One of the residents was present when I met with Larry. After much dithering, he offered to provide  a free screening and coating, to be done when the place becomes vacant again and he would send me a coupon to that effect. A week later, upon contacting A+ again, I received their ?coupon?. It was a letter stating what had been promised, but it was typed on blank paper.  There was no letterhead used and there was no authorizing name or signature given. I left a message with A+, questioning the validity of their coupon (anyone could have typed it up), and asking for rectification of this problem ?coupon?. However, I have received no response from them. Their professionalism and customer service are non-existent.

In addition, I mentioned to Larry that use of dust containment equipment on this job was questionable since I had layers of dust everywhere to clean/wipe up when A+ was finished with the job. I?ve never had to cleanup so much dust on previous sandings  with other refinishers who used dust containment systems. These comments were shrugged off by Larry also.
Response from A+ Hardwood Floors
"Once the customer called with concerns, we immediately sent Larry out to meet her that day. She did not bring the correct key so we told her it would not be a problem to come back the next day, which we did. Once we inspected the floor, the renters had already moved in and had created significant damage to the hardwood floors with their furniture. Once Larry inspected the floor, he agreed that the floors were slightly rough. He told her we could come in immediately to buff the floors and put a new coat of finish down at no charge. Or we would do the free coat of finish once the current renters moved out. She agreed to this and we sent her a letter stating to call us anytime to schedule the free coat. At this point we feel that we have resolved any issues with this job. We would also like to take a moment to thank all of the Angie's List Members for the great reviews and honoring us with our second Super Service Award in as many years."

Floors turned out beautifully.  I couldn't be more pleased.  Everyone was professional, punctual, and responsive. I was able to get an estimate within a few days of my initial call and they were able to work around my schedule.  They were able to start the job within a week of the initial estimate.  They started and finished the job on time.  I would definitely recommend them.

They were very efficient, professional, and did a great job. They came when they were supposed to. They actually finished a day sooner than planned. The smokers smoked way out on the sidewalk and I thought that was very considerate---as opposed to smoking on my porch.

They were very professional and seemed to be very good. I think they were much more comfortable putting in new floors instead of refinishing floors. They seemed to be very good but they were a little bit more expensive than another company I contacted. They were trying to up sell me.
