Cook Chevrolet

Well this one is embarrassing . My check engine light came on one day on my way home. Of course she was running well so I waited a few days. I finally had some time and dropped in at Cooks. I asked if they could tell me why my light came on. Dwayne was going to check it but Jeff said he had more time. It was a blah blah air flow blah blah. lol (I totally didn't understand). After vebally running through all the very expensive potential causes he stopped and asked if I had gotten gas just before the light came on. Proudly i told him yes I had filled up the morning it came on. He shook his head and said he needed to check one more thing. He opened the little door and just looked at me for a second. Then asked if I forgot anything when I got gas. Of course I said no ...he motioned for me to come closer and see what the problem was. I had no gas cap !!! Guess I did forget something after all. S*** !! He laughed and assured me he would be sharing this story with everybody !!! Needless to say my next stop was the Checker auto supply down the street. Lesson totally learned at the expense of my ego !!

I initially spoke with Joe Bird about my door . He said to bring it in and they would see what could be done. I came in without an appointment but Jeff Schankin immediately came out to look at it. He was quite honest about the condition of my door. He explained that he would try to just twist the door closer to being flush with the rest of the car BUT if anything broke I would need a new door. A new door would cost over $200.00!! He was able to get my door %80 better !! I still get a little wind but no water and my leg no longer freezes on a mild day. lol I offered to pay for the time he spent but was turned down. We have had some very cool and rainy days since then. I am soooo grateful 1) not to have rain dripping on my electric door locks and window controls and, 2) not to have a cold leg. lol

They fixed my car and got it running.
