Punctuality: For normal or routine care, this vet service is not recommended. Of the 5-6 times I've used this vet, I've never waited less than 45 minutes, with a maximum wait time of 3 hours (!) before I saw the vet. A wait time of 45-60 minutes is normal. The time I waited for 3 hours, I didn't have a scheduled appointment, but called because I noticed a cut on my dog's paw. They said I could wait in the waiting room and they would "squeeze me in". After 3 hours, I politely told the technician at the front desk that I was leaving and if I could reschedule. She told me the vet would see me immediately and why hadn't I told them I was in a time crunch. Well, I wasn't in a time crunch, but after 3 hours, I just wasn't willing to wait. I thought the question was unprofessional. Professionalism: This vet office is constantly overbooked. When you walk into the front office, it is chaotic and all the vet techs seem highly stressed. When you ask how much more time until you will be called to see the vet, they always say "in just a moment". I've had them answer that to me when I've been on the wait list behind 5 dogs! Now, I ask how many dogs are ahead of me, and then I do some simple math to get an expected time. One visit, I told the vet that there was a minor problem with one of vet techs. He called in the vet tech and verbally yelled at her in front of me. I thought this was unprofessional. Another time, I overheard the vet talking to a client. The client was surprised at the diagnosis and said "You're kidding.?" The vet responded with, "No, I'm lying." Although he did go on to explain the diagnosis to the client, I felt the "no, I'm lying" was unprofessional. They have also made comments about VRCC, an emergency vet hospital, which I find unnecessary. Especially since when I first found out there was a potential emergency with my dog, Aspen Park vet was called and wouldn't see my dog because they were closing in 30 minutes. (I live 15 minutes away). If they don't want to treat my dog, fine, but don't mutter about other vet services that did accept my dog for a life-threatening emergency. Care: Generally, I feel that my dogs get adequate attention and time with the vets. With the exception of post-surgery care, I am satisfied. For the post-surgery care, I had to take my dog to VRCC, which is a 24-hour emergency vet hospital. VRCC prescribed an IV and left the IV catheter in the dog's leg. After transfer to Aspen Park for 24 hours of surveillance, Aspen Park decided not to give the IV, but also neglected to take out the catheter. I can't easily overlook this error. I ended up having another vet service (my new vet!) take out the IV catheter. Price: Aspen Park has lower prices and even advertise that they haven't raised prices in three years. Although this a great concept, I'm taking my dogs elsewhere because the perceived neglect, chaos, and untimeliness isn't worth the cost savings. Overall: Although I feel that the vets and the techs have the best intentions, the overbookings lead to stressed out employees, unpunctual appointments, and sometimes attitude problems. I'm taking my dogs elsewhere.
