 + 1 moreThey promised 24% energy efficiency gains from the previous year. My wife and I believed them and allowed them to perform the work (not cheap). Ergo sum, the next year our bill didn't go down but jumped 12% the next year. The work as it was being done was professional though. After some efforts they honored their performance guarantee, however WellHome as it was once knownis now deceased.
Description of Work: These snake oil salesmen are out of business.

Description of Work: Wellhome called within minutes of my requesting an estimate for installing a new a/c, but were not able to send anyone out to my house until a week and a half later. They did give me a rough quote over the phone without coming to my home. In the mean time, I met with 3 other contractors who gave me estimates and the a/c and a new furnace were installed by the time they would have been able to give the initial estimate. Since, it didn't work out timing-wise, I can not speak to the quality of their service or price.

They were well organized without a "corporate" feel, because each person who worked on the house really knew his craft and had lots of experience. There were subcontractors involved and the scheduling could not have been smoother. Each part of the process was explained to us in detail, so we had very few questions as the 2-day process went on. Randy Hale covered all the bases, was very straightforward and organized. They showed up on time and did exactly what they said they would do. When problems came to light, such as an exposed electrical box, remedies were suggested and our opinions considered. They went above and beyond anything we expected. Bill organized all the subcontractors and the process went like clockwork. We also wanted to mention that they were all really nice human beings, in good command of their individual crafts.
Description of Work: We met a WellHome representative at the Old House Society Fair. What caught our attention immediately was that he seemed very knowledgeable about his subject: house energy audits, insulation, and weatherization. He wasn't giving a corporate line, but was speaking from his own experience and expertise. We made arrangements to have a whole house energy audit. The price of the audit was included if we ordered further work, which we did. WellHome ultimately arranged to insulate the attic, add vapor barriers and insulation to the crawl spaces, foam the rim of the house at the foundation, install turtles in the roof for ventilation, insulate and weatherize the skylight opening, and weatherize the front door. In addition, we needed a vent installed for a bathroom fan, and WellHome scheduled a subcontractor to handle that job. They also fully insulated and secured the attic hatch.
