David had been to my house once before to help troubleshoot my water heater which wasn't always providing hot water. He found a large amount of rust inside the unit as well as a large amount of gunk on the inside of the pipes which meant it probably had a leak at one time and had never been serviced before. He flushed the unit out and removed all gunk and rust. This improved the water heating but still didn't fully solve the problem, so I later asked him to replace the unit all together. When he came to replace the unit he said he would try again to pinpoint the problem since I now had a better idea how to find the error codes when the problem was occurring (it was showing an error code that meant the igniter wasn't working). He determined that the gas regulator was shot and that I could try to fix that instead of replacing the entire unit if I preferred. He wasn't pushy at all in trying to sell me the unit. I opted to replace the unit since it seemed like it was probably installed incorrectly when the house was built and would probably continue to pose problems even after this repair. The new unit works beautifully and we finally have reliable hot water. I will definitely use David again.
