We met a representative from K&K at the Denver home show. We called several companies to give us an estimate but K&K made an initial fantastic first impression. The woman who came out was incredibly knowledgeable, was able to give us suggestions and ideas based on her experience and expertise. She was professional, friendly and we immediately felt we could trust her. She was patient with us as we changed our mind several times and she had to re-do the bid. The bid came in pretty much in the middle of all the bids, but based on our experience with the woman who gave the estimate, we felt most comfortable with K&K. We were given a date to start and approximately two weeks to finish. They completed our entire backyard in that timeframe. Due to unforeseeable hail storms the day they finished the yard, the concrete had some damage. They worked with us, giving us several options and suggestions, and worked relentlessly to meet our expectations. We are completely satisfied with the look of our new backyard and have had nothing but compliments from anyone who has seen it. I would most definitely, without reservation or hesitation, recommend K&K.

The crew did good work, Just were a little sloppy with the concrete and got it on my siding and windows. There also appears to be a low spot that doesn't dry as fast as the rest of the patio. Overall very happy with the service K&K provided.

K&K was fantastic and they were prepared to handle the unexpected drain that needed to be extended. We are really happy with our new parking spot.

"K&K installed a 200 sq. ft. colored driveway expansion for this customer in one day. When removing the landscaping rocks, it was discovered that a drain was leading to the middle of where the new concrete would be. K&K extended the drain to the easement at no charge to the customer. The crew appreciated the little girl's Xmas treat bags she made for them!"

Concrete Driveways & Floors Installation
Very bad experience. Multiple issues both with owner Chris and with on-site staff. They broke irrigation system, buried painted trim in concrete, broke fence gate, cut fence gate free hand without a level or line, left gate hung crooked, then refused to communicate. We tried to communicate by phone and by email, they then had a fake policeman call asking we stop calling them. Crude, poor communication.
Response from K & K Construction
"ANY CUSTOMER WHO WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CORRESPONDANCE, PLEASE ASK...This is simply a fabrication of the truth! Work was performed back in 2017 and the review 4 1/2 yrs later. We were asked to replace the top of the driveway to a detached garage, replace the front 1.6' of the garage and pour a small walkway/patio between the detached garage and existing patio. Customer was present at time of the project and even signed a completion form stating we did everything contracted. A year later he said a 'city inspector' was failing him for us pouring up to a trim board. We asked for the city's information so we could work with them and he wasn't able to produce. The emails started to accuse K&K of coming on his property to causing " strange occurrences," like placing a sucker in his bushes - essentially calling him a sucker. He said he had cameras. I assured him we had no involvement but the accusatory emails continued. I encouraged him to share his footage with police as I know we had nothing to do with what may have been happening. We employ adults; not children. Being that we've never had such interaction, we wanted to protect ourselves and asked the local police what can be done to protect ourselves. The police offered to call this home owner and ask them to stop -essentially -harassing us. He was not a 'fake' cop. The home owner had his direct number. Most the items mentioned, I cannot address as it has been far to long ago to recall. We just have the emails only complaining of a trim board."

I was extremely impressed with K & K Construction from start to finish. Everyone we dealt with from this company was very professional and courteous. They gave us a good price and included a couple upgrades at no extra cost. The crew did an amazing job with the work, and were extremely mindful of cleaning up the mess and respecting my neighbor s property. I would absolutely recommend K & K Construction to anyone who needs concrete work done.

Wish I could give these guys 5 stars but their clean up is lacking. The deconstruction of my deck and the concrete patio replacement went well, however, they ruined my brick pavers and a rocky area leading to the back yard when they were rolling the cement back there. This could have been prevented by simply placing a couple of tarps down. I have emailed and called K and K to remedy this but they have not taken any action to fix the damage. This truly makes me sad because I had four other friends who wanted to use this company for their concrete needs. However, due to the sloppiness and disregard for my other property, I cannot recommend them at this time. I am happy to upgrade my review if they remedy the above problems.

Had them extend our driveway by 18 inches on each side. They were on time, were very polite and did a good job on the driveway itself. The only problem was that they splattered cement on our brand-new flagstone stepping stones and did not clean it up. I was told on the day of installation, that it would wash off, no problem, just let the cement cure and they would clean it up when they came back to remove the forms. Unfortunately, it was a new guy that told me it was no problem and when they tried to get it off, it was permanent. 1 year later, I still have cement splatters on my flagstone! Driveway extensions still look good and so far, there has been no spalling or flaking on the areas that they added.

I was really impressed with Kris and Dena. I met them at the Denver Home Show and they were both professional and easy to talk with. After receiving four bids for a new patio and walkway at our house and a walkway at our rental we chose to go with them and we have been very pleased. They were not the cheapest bid nor the most expensive but I believe you get what you pay for and I like supporting the local family operator. The crew showed up on time and because this is a family operation Kris was also there to go over the particulars of the job which was nice (eliminates miscommunication). Kris worked the project the entire day so I was glad he was there to see that the project met my expectations. The crew was very nice and I enjoyed chatting with them now and again through the day. Everything included in the contract was completed and even a few items that were not in the contract were taken care of. Kris even talked me out of a few things that I thought I needed. He could have made a few bucks on these but instead was honest in saying I probably didnt need them. The cost came in on budget and on time and thoroughly cleaned up after the work was done. They did a great job and after a previous nightmare job with another company I was really glad to find these guys. We will absolutely use them again if we find ourselves in need of concrete work. I have no hesitation recommending K and K Construction.

We had cracked pavement and cement stairs pulling away from the house foundation, K & K did a fantastic job replacing the two areas. Nice work, professional and true to their estimate in completing the work in one day. I would absolutely recommend and contact them for any future jobs.

Good luck if you have any problems because this company will simply ignore you hoping you will just go away. They lack professionalism, communication skills and their workmanship is amateur. This company presented themselves as professional and reliable at the Colorado Home and Garden show. Which prompted us to hire them for a complete patio removal. The job entailed removal of our old patio steps and stoop to be replaced with new concrete. The total amount of the agreed upon price for the project was payed in in full upon completion in late may. One month later, cracks started to appear on the stoop and the large section of the patio slab. We contacted K and K construction who sent out their office manager, Dena, who denies being the office manager, although it says on the BBB web site that she is, to assess the situation. Instead of someone experienced in the day to day concrete applications. We were only able to get her out by baiting her with the prospects of getting another job as they continually ignored us. She suggested we keep an eye on it. That they were shrink cracks. These shrink cracks morphed into 3/8 inch wide by 8 foot cracks on the patio slab, as well as wide cracking on the stoop and down onto the steps. Again after several attempts to have someone qualified to come take a look at our concerns two workman showed up with a bucket of concrete to do a patch job. The owners supervisor did not show up as had been requested by us, and the workmen were informed a patch job would not be acceptable on a patio we paid 6K for. Despite our multiple attempts to rectify the issue they stopped all communication by phone and would only accept email messages that went unanswered for weeks. Finally after 4 months, this past October we were contacted with a date to perform the repairs, which involved tearing out the stoop, stairs and slab to be re-poured. It was then we discovered the old patio was under the section and would explain why there is such a deep step off the patio down onto the lawn, which is significantly higher that before. We were charged for complete removal of our patio which was not done. We also discovered that instead of removing the stoop completely as had been agreed upon it had been partially torn out and poured an additional 4 inches wider. The steps were wavy and uneven and the finish has small perforations and pitting. Immediately a workmen was told that we needed to speak with Chris before the concrete set up so changes could be made, also that we were not satisfied and we would not sign off on the repairs. We could not call Chris because our calls were blocked so we had to rely on the employees to communicate with him for us. He said he had to go pick his kids up from school and never followed up with us.

"It is unfortunate, but this customer has changed their story each time they write a review. I have screenshots that THIS review has been modified 20 times! (starting 2/24/19 - as of 3/6/2019) The ?office manager? is the same person who originally met with the home owner to bid on the project. Her bid showed enough experience for them to hire K&K Construction. The BBB has a drop down menu for job titles; that has nothing to do with the work in question. She is not an office manager. She has 12 years experience in this field of work. Stating she was not experienced, is incorrect. When she went to look at the areas of concern, they cracks were hairline (shrink) cracks. Most of which wouldn't even show in a picture since they were so thin. They even asked for an estimate for their driveway at that meeting. We were never ?baited? with the promise of more work. Per the contract, the cracks are acceptable and aren't covered. Knowing the home owner has a 1 yr warranty, she said should they become wider, we would replace them. In the meantime, K&K offered to seal them as a courtesy with concrete epoxy. That offer was made 6/22/18. The home owner replied on 6/30/18 that the cracks were wider and sent a picture. The home owner requested the owner come out. The crew went to seal the cracks and did notice that they were wider. (It was not a ?bucket of concrete.? We use concrete epoxy to seal cracks; which is not sold in buckets.) A meeting was set for 7/19/18, but the owner had a conflict. We had to wait for the rain to schedule another date. Ultimately, the home owner and K&K agreed to replace the cracked sections. A date was set for replacement in early August, but the home owner asked for K&K to, ??wait a bit longer?as the cracks were getting bigger.? Another date was set, but the home owner had company in town. They were part of the delay in getting the repairs done as well. Stating that K&K was unresponsive is incorrect. The contract states that all issues must be done by certified mail. This is to protect both parties and everything is documented in writing. The home owner made several calls to the owner directly (many all in one day.) It's like expecting John Elway to be in the service department at one of the dealerships. The owner is running the business and can't take every matter directly; thus why the home owner was directed to call the office with concerns. Here is an excerpt from an email to the home owner after finding a date in October that worked for them "That contract clearly states, ?K&K?will make necessary repairs in a timely manner. The timeline for repairs will depend on the already scheduled workload of the crews and the weather. Repairs will also not be performed during the months of October- March; unless extenuating circumstances arise." Even with that agreement, we still want to get this done for you sooner than later, but you have to be patient. You want this done before the end of October, but then"

They did nice work and made adjustments accordingly and within reason when he encountered a couple of snags with what was under old concrete. They also forgot to put in drainage under the concrete in one area and quickly worked to correct the problem. They are very professional and reasonable people to work with.

"This customer just purchased a house built in the late 1800s. What was believed to be a coal chute in the middle of their patio, ended up being a set of steps into the basement with a false ceiling! There was also a 4' deep grease trap under the back door. We were able to come up with solutions on-the-fly to rectify both areas and still give the customer the function they needed. The drain that was 'missed' was not in the original quote, but we installed free of charge. We also poured more concrete that originally quoted in the garage; since during the time of the visit for the estimate, the home owners didn't have access inside."
