TV Service - Cable
We have had Wide Open West (WOW) Cable-Internet-Phone bundle for several years now. They have always been prompt about service. With today's visit, we thought we had figured out the DVR box had gone bad. But the technician found out through swapping things out (boxes, cables), our HDMI connectors on our TV have gone bad and are only working very intermittently. Normally, this would mean we would have to get the tv fixed. But the tech said he would save us that expense, he got different cables (and even had to hunt down another tech truck to get those cables) to hook us up with Colorstream instead of HDMI. Wallah, problem solved and costly tv repair avoided.
Before he left, even tho the tv was working fine, he further checked to make sure we were receiving optimum signal, and found we were not. So he checked outside for our connection to the house and switched out some equipment, but found that the problem was in their main line, which he said he would get taken care of.
We have found all their techs to be nice, clean (they wear footies over their shoes) and helpful making sure we have good service.

TV Service - Cable, Internet Service + 1 more
At first, there were few problems with any of the services, and we were happy generally.
In the second month, however, the problems began to accrue quickly, and they haven't stopped.
CABLE: Beginning in month two of service, the remote control stopped working predictably (e.g., one presses the channel numbers and the volume changes; several numbers on the remote have stopped working altogether; the digital receiver doesn't respond unless the remote is fewer than two feet from the receiver and the television has been on for at least 30 seconds; etc). About six months ago, we started to get some occasional scrambling on the television, as well as brief gaps in service. Starting four weeks ago, the service became wildly unpredictable, freezing up for hours. On one occasion, our weekly PBS viewing was interrupted by an inexplicable digital scramble: mid Masterpiece, the channel registered as a NASCAR race on FOX. This lasted for the duration of the night and into the next day, when we checked to see if the problem had been resolved.
The CABLE service has been abysmal, the channel lineup ridiculously sparse in terms of watchable channels, the hardware and technology unreliable.
LANDLINE PHONE: Our landline frequently stops working without explanation. As of this moment, our landline has not worked in FOUR weeks. Not at all. No dial tone, no calling ability, nothing. And yet we are still paying for it.
INTERNET: The internet service is terribly slow, making any laptop that uses it reject Internet searches because they take too long. Additionally, we have to stop and restart the Internet router three or four times per day because it stops functioning, and two of our anywhere-else functioning devices cannot connect at all no matter what we do.
Add to all of these difficulties the fact that after I sent in a complaint form, I received literally DOZENS of phone calls from WOW! on my cell phone (because the landline wasn't working!), nearly one hundred calls to my cell phone at all hours of the day, all without messages. I had no idea who these calls were from until I finally received a form email from someone named Corbin. He offered me a $15 credit.
In short, stay away from this company. It's slightly less expensive than other cable providers, but saving $10 is not worth the extremely poor service on all fronts, the harassing phone calls, and the lack of channels.

Satellite TV Equipment Service
WOW! went so far as to credit our account $10 per month for an entire year, due to complications and frustrations we endured. We would recommend this company to others.

TV Service - Cable
The experience is good with Wide Open West. When you call customer service you can talk to a live person. I don't have any problems with them. The reliability of the signal is good.

TV Service - Cable
Unfortunately, on the day that the technician came, the service was working. He checked our box, checked some wiring and changed a piece of equipment. Everything seemed to be fine, however, the problem continues to occur. We will be calling them back out again.

TV Service - Cable, Internet Service
Excellent. Never lost cable TV or internet service. Cable TV remote stopped working. Called help/service number. After several minutes, they determined I needed a new remote. They said a technician would come to my house on Saturday, but I had to wait all day 8 am-8 pm. No one ever came. A few days later I called: remote to be sent to my house, which I received after about one week. Remote was an upgraded model and works well. No other problems since then.

Internet Service, Landline Phone Service
Used to have DSL but moved to an area where only cable is available. It is so much more expensive. The modem is also leased at $4 a month and it needs to be reset at least three times a week. The phone service was horrible at first and it took two visits and both a new cable run from the pole as well as a new modem to get it working right.

Internet Service
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. NOT AVAILABLE IN ALL AREAS, BUT DEFINITELY WORTH A LOOK. NEVER A PROBLEM WITH INTERNET ACCESS. CABLE TV DID HAVE A PROBLEM OF INTERMITTENT 1 SEC BURSTS OF STATIC SOUND. THEY SENT REPAIRMAN TO REPLACE CABLE BOX, AND NO PROBLEM SINCE. DON'T RECALL EVER HAVING ANY OTHER PROBLEM WITH CABLE TV -- NEVER OUT-OF-SERVICE. ALSO IF YOU REFER ANOTHER CUSTOMER: $50 OFF BOTH YOUR AND THE NEW CUSTOMER'S BILL 6 MTHS LATER. OVERALL, VERY HAPPY AND PRICE WAS BETTER THAN SBC, COMCAST, OR ADELPHIA.
