Total Roofing

At the time of this review, I've noted that Total Roofing had obtained a 28% "F" rating. (11 out of 38 reviews.) In my brief experience, I can understand why. - Initially, I had planned on contacting and doing business with roofing companies that only had an overall "A" rating on Angie's List; however, I decided to make an exception due to having had a neighbor's referral. I was given one of Total Roofing's business cards with the name of "David Fleming, Project Manager." I called him on Wednesday afternoon, the 9th of August. We had a brief, but pleasant conversation. Due to that he was currently with a client, he had me text him my address, stating that he would call me shortly thereafter. He didn't. The next morning he sent me a text, and we scheduled an appointment for him to come to my home on Friday the 11th. He never showed up. Believing this to be a bad first impression, reflecting what to expect from Total Roofing, I decided not to continue on with them any further. On the following Thursday the 17th, I began to consider that perhaps Mr. Fleming had been in a car accident or other emergency. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I sent him a text stating that he had been a No-Show, and I asked if he was alright. He responded stating that he lost my contact information having broken his phone. I then expressed my understanding. I expected that he would return my text to reschedule his missed appointment; but, much to my surprise he did not. Communications ended there. - Come 7am Monday, the 21st of August, as I was enroute to a medical proceedure he sent me a text asking "What's a good time this week?" Wow! Yeah, that's not going to happen. So, long story short ("I know, too late."), it would seem that they do business at their leisure and on their own schedule. l would advise any one looking for a good roofing company to be warry of doing any kind of business with Total Roofing.

They did a good job. Wasn't a big project, other firms weren't interested in taking the job. Price was reasonable. Would definitely use them in the future.

Total Roofing spun on a dime for me, between insurance issues and weather, they really came thru, thanks for the serious assist!

I have been trying to get the repairs completed and in accordance with my HOA since August 2016. Neither total roofing nor their sub-contractors have been responsive or addressing the outstanding issues. The work that was completed was shotty to say the least and unacceptable. There was additional damaged caused to my home by Total Roofing and their sub-contractors that I was told would be supplemented by Total Roofing and the work has yet to be completed. I hired an additional contractor to do the painting on my house and have paid that contractor is full as total roofing has not responded to my requests for payment and status of additional repairs still needing to be completed. The costs to repair the damage total roofing and their sub-contractors have caused is almost $15,000, which total roofing is well aware of.

Total Roofing was timely and responsive in regards to inspection, estimate and scheduling repair. Repair was completed today April 10, 2017. The workman was right on time, professional, and very nice. Cleaned up afterwards.

Mike came out and provided interim fix to prevent further damage. Said he would sent estimate in a few days. Followed up and was told I would receive it that evening. That was two weeks ago. I realize my house wasn't the only one damaged; however, at least a touch – base call would have been nice. They must not need the business.

Called a couple of times to fix leak and inspect roof. Never called me back.

A horrible experience. Shane was totally unreliable. Made promises and never followed through. Complained to the owners and nothing was corrected. They told us that because we had problems with total roofing, that they prefer not to do business with us. Totally disappointed, especially since Dave Ramsey endorses this company. In closing, Total Roofing Colorado Springs is just another Roofing Company who has bad service and is after your money. They lie about products available. They also lie about when they are able to do your roof. I would't recommend Total Roofing.

I called them three times and they never ever returned my calls. Try Old World Roofing instead.

When we called about the last leak that caused interior ceiling and wall damage, we received a helpful response initially. A contractor came and made the necessary repair to the roof and said someone would be in touch about the interior repairs in a week or two. Both he and the operator I spoke to confirmed our roof was under warranty and any repairs exterior or interior were covered. Fast forward a month, two months, and so forth. After numerous calls and being shuffled around by those answering the phones at the office, we still were getting nowhere. We were told numerous times someone would be in touch shortly, but to no avail. We finally had to file a formal complaint with the BBB 5 months into it to get matters taken care of. It was 6 months after the leak before they did the repairs that they had told us from the beginning they would do and assured us were covered under their warranty. During the coarse of time, however, they tried to get out of it-even saying that our warranty was only for 3 years even though it was clearly stated as 5 years on several places on our contract, and stating that they made numerous attempts and calls to resolve the matter, which our cellphone and email records clearly refute. They provided misinformation to the BBB about the situation and went so far as to state that they went above and beyond their responsibility which is completely laughable. What a headache it was to try to get the repairs done caused by their workmanship issues! While the contractors were generally helpful and courteous, the office personnel we had to go through and representatives corresponding with the BBB were not at all.

Fair price, fast and detail quote information, they cleaned up the yard very well after the job was done.

Very professional and on time. Workmanship on the roof was great.

I had to track down Nick Wall, who reportedly dropped his cellphone in the toilet. I called him and left a message. No response. So I called the Total Roofing office, Michelle. Who after 2 calls and no response gave me the number for the VP. I called and left him a message. Then miraculously Nick Wall called and said that Michelle had told him that "I'm calling and raising a big fuss with everyone ....". Nice that as a customer you're promised that the roof repairs would be done the week after Thanksgiving, but can't get anyone from Total Roofing to call you back or EVEN PROVIDE A CONTRACT SO I CAN GET ON THE SCHEDULE!!!! Even though this is the company that my homeowner's insurance recommended, I'm not wasting my time trying to track them down and beg them to do the repairs on my roof anymore. If that's the way you're going to treat a customer, I think it speaks volumes about the quality of the work you're going to do.

Estimate was provided within a couple of days of my initial call. Jason Congin was very prompt, courteous and professional. Work was performed promptly and professionally. They even went beyond the scope of the specified work when indications showed another possible questionable area. They replaced that portion at no extra cost. Not certain yet whether the fix was effective. The leak is/was intermittent and illusive and we have probably not had the right weather conditions to effectively test it, but I am hopeful. They were very reasonably priced. Other bidders attempted to increase the work as much as possible by selling us a decease and trying to scare us. One even claimed to see hail damage and wanted to replace the whole roof. Obviously, these companies are used to working with insurance companies and not the homeowner?s wallet. Their bids were many times that offered by Total Roofing. Total Roofing will be my preferred roofing company from now on.

Partial Shingle replacement - Can't even tell where the new ones replaced the old shingles. The county inspector was perplexed trying to figure it out. We watched the work and they took their time and it looks good. They also talked us out of spending extra (our own money) to replace the whole roof. We have defective shingles w/ no warranty since we just moved in. Relayed we could last at least 3-5 more years (Colorado Years are like dog years w/ our weather). Gutters - almost all of them replaced minus a downspout or two. - they look so much better and work as advertised. Screens - We can see out the windows again. Weather and hail turned them into crap. Screens are nice and tight. Vents & caps - all painted to fit in and work great. Pergola - pressure washed and re-stained the top. We had just stained it 2 days before the hail storm. Looks good and will improve the look for a few more years. Through out the process Total Roofing worked with us to make sure it was all good and we payed according to work done. They worked with USAA to get our depreciation back allowing us to get all the work done minus $250 for stucco. Thank You. Even when the mortgage company took almost a month to disburse the money back to us so we could pay Total Roofing they were very kind and willing to work with it through. I believe they must have worked on other jobs Stearns Lending has been involved with. When it is time to get that new set of shingles on our roof - you bet we'll only use Total Roofing. We have give 4 of our Neighbors their info. A few are waiting til spring to complete the job with Total Roofing.

They were a good business to deal with. All of the interactions with the company were great and a very reputable vendor in my opinion.

Their service is good. I was out of town when they did this.

They did the job very professionally. Cleaned up evberything when finished.

Total Roofing was very responsive and upfront and honest in all areas of construction bid. They offered many choices and options for us to update and repair our home. The crew cleaned up really nice after work was finished and asked if we were satisfied with the cleanup and job before leaving the jobsite!

Great. Crew on time, cleaned up well. Supervisor inspected site a few days later. Very responsive to my wants and needs. The company also took the time to become a preferred provider for my insurance company, reducing the cost.

due to wind storm we lost a couple shingles. had to get all new shingles due to having 't-lock' shingles. used our insurance company and total roofing did the work. roof was almost done in a day. the only issue was that they use sub-contractors for the wood work and gutters so they were not as reliable. perhaps they should have their own crews for that.

I spent about $12000. They were honest, they did a good job cleaning up and they fixed any issues that we had.

They did really good. Excellent job, I would recommend them to anyone.

We received a homeowner's insurance payout for our hail damaged roof and exterior paint. Lee and Tony came out to check the roof and explain our options. They explained the insurance payout (which I found extremely difficult to understand) and explained, in detail options for shingles, their warranty and how the process would work. They even came out a second time to explain everything all over again for my husband. The work started at the date and time scheduled. The roof work was completed to my satisfaction and I was very pleased to see Lee and Tony show up on work day to oversee everything just as they said. | |I was not as impressed with the painter they contracted out for our exterior but I did not see that as a reflection on Total Roofing however, I will not recommend that painting company to anyone.
