Total Math Tutoring

I found Nicki on Angies's List, when I needed to to hire a math tutor for my daughter. My daughter, a high school senior, was failing her Calculus class and had this mental block that she "just can't do math". She also was very skeptical about tutoring on-line, not having face-to-face sessions. But right after the second session with Nicki, when I asked her how it was going, she said: "Finally someone can explain me math!". So, I asked my daughter to write the review for Nicki, and this is what she wrote: I would have never passed Calculus and more importantly never understood Calculus without Nicki's help. Calculus was just one of those things that made absolutely no sense to me and I was stuck in a very fast paced course and I didn't have the best teacher but I needed it to graduate, and with Nicki's help I got through the material and by the last week of school I was solving problems in class faster than some of the AP CALC students. Nicki works with you and helps you based off of how you learn best. She helps translate the problems so they're easier for you to understand, she works through examples with you and makes sure you can solve the problems on your own before moving on to the next topic. I worked with her through a virtual online whiteboard where both of us could type and draw at the same time. I tutored with her for about 6 months multiple times a week. She works with your schedule and makes sure you get to cover all of the material for your exams and even makes time for extra cram sessions right before exams. When I contacted Nicki I had an F in the class and had given up all hope and I ended up graduating with a B in the class! I HIGHLY recommend going to Nicki for all of your math problems, she definitely won't disappoint!

Nicki was wonderful from start to finish!  I couldn't say anything better about her to anyone who is searching for help - She was always available and willing to schedule her tutoring around my full-time work schedule needs, particularly since she's in a different time zone, as she is in Colorado, yet she was always available to work with my schedule.  In addition, she is the type of math teacher I always needed - allowing me to ask questions when I thought of them, helping me to grasp concepts as we went along, instead of getting further and further behind until I threw up my hands in frustration and despair.  She is able to take very complicated subjects and turn them into "plain English", and works with students over the internet on an internet "whiteboard", so that both she and the student can write/draw simultaneously, working on problems together.  I would highly recommend her for anyone, of any age, who needs help with math.  I have suggested that my sister contact Nicki to help my 13 year-old nephew, and I am 49 - evidence of Nicki's ability to converse with all age groups, just as others have stated.  By the way, I will take the final in my class today, and I currently have an 88 average - absolutely amazing for me!!!

Nicole is amazing. On my 4th attempt passing a simple college algebra class, I decided I needed a tutor. With Nicole's help I am finally walking away from that class (and never never looking back) with a B! I am so grateful! She was easily available, she had the skills to make me understand the material, and I cannot thank her enough!

She always answered my e-mails promptly and it seems that Kami liked taking lessons from her.  I think everything went very well.

The experience was excellent.  My son had some medical and emotional challenges and we were home schooling for that reason.  He had significant attentional issues but Ms. Rosa was able to handle all of it and keep him interested and involved.  He enjoyed the sessions and learned well.  His math knowledge from this experience was really solid and this was evident when he returned to a more traditional classroom setting the year after he finished his home schooling.

I would recommend Ms. Rosa unconditionally for any similar teaching/tutoring situation.  She had a thorough command of the subject matter was able to communicate well.  She stayed in touch with me as a parent and kept me informed without alienating my son in the process.  

She was also very caring about my son as a person and has stayed in touch over the years.  We miss her and have fond memories of the whole experience.

It all went so well --- my daughter did well in class and continued to get high grades as she continued on in her high school math classes.  When she took her freshman math class in college, she said it was mostly review from her high school classes and she ended her semester with an A.  At one point during her first semester of college math class, she was stumbling - so she contacted Nicki and got the help she needed over the phone.  I've referred Nicki to many of my friends whose kids need that extra support with math, and I wouldn't hesitate to refer her again and again.

The response time is great.  Nicki is available at frequent hours and when there is a 'math emergency'!  We think she's great!  I would definitely continue to seek her help.

My daughter is in high school, but she is taking College Algebra at the local community college.  My daughter had a major test on Thursday, and expressed concern the day before the test (Wednesday morning) that she did not understand some of the material.  I contacted Nichole, and she rearranged her own personal schedule to get my daughter in that evening.  She did not stop the session until my daughter felt comfortable with the material.  Nichole also provided her contact information (email and telephone number) to my daughter, in case she needed help with anything else.
I found Nichole online, but this is not my first contact with her.  My 27 year old daughter had difficulty with Algebra in high school.  Nichole provided excellent tutoring services at that time as well.  She was able to help my oldest daughter progress from failing to passing the course with flying colors.  
I highly recommend Nichole.  She has years of experience, and has an obvious passion for what she does.

When our son was preparing to select a college, we found his weakness on the ACT was math. He scored a 19, much to my surprise. We heard from friends about this cool lady that make math fun and not a mystery. I saw her in action with my kids. She's amazing. ACT went from a 19 to a 28! He got his choice of college. (now to pay for college)
Most recently my daughter who is in college was, in my opinion, taking too many credits. I think this caused her to fall way behind in college algebra; to the point she finally let her parents know she was so far behind the was no saving her GPA. Nicki was so flexible in accommodating her work and college schedule. Nicki made things so comfortable with the way she facilitates the learning process. My daughter mastered the concepts she was having difficulty with in very short order and her self confidence in her own success goes far beyond her new-found skills in higher math. She has applied Nicki's style to her other classes as well as her life in general. My daughter "tutored" me in the finer points of my I-Phone with the same patience and grace I witnessed Nicki employ with her. Needless to say, the GPA was saved.
Now I want to be tutored, by Nicki.

The tutoring was excellent. Nicole helped reviewed math and algebra skills, targeting those that were most relevant to the exam and its unique format. The information she presented was very well structured and explained in simple, easy-to-understand terms. She also provided analogies when I was struggling to understand a concept. I never felt shy about asking a question, because she was so warm and approachable. Thanks to her help, I nailed a high score on the exam and qualified for an apprenticeship.

Last fall, my daughter was struggling with college algebra. Nicki was so flexible and planned tutoring sessions to match my
daughter's schedule and needs. With Nicki's support, the concepts my daughter was struggling with were quickly mastered. A year ago, we asked Nicki to help with my son's ACT preparation. His ACT math subtest score went from a 19 (on the PLAN) to a 28! Nicki has an easygoing, reassuring, confidence-inspiring approach to students. Because of this, my children never balked at going to tutoring sessions. Nicki has been a wonderful resource for our family.

My daughter has learning disabilities nd was only able to get through high school math with Nicole's tutoring.  She used very practical methods in her teaching.  Very pleasant to work with!

If you want your child to receive focused, one-on-one attention, then Nicki is the best choice. Her friendly, laid back personality helps students who are struggling with math gain confidence in their abilities. She genuinely cares for the students she works with. She is great at showing students a real-world application for all areas of math. This is especially helpful for kids who do not feel that math serves a purpose outside of school. She lets the students keep examples of problems and solutions so that the kids can reference them later. During inclement weather, she even offered assistance via email. We scanned sheets with problems and she emailed steps to help with the difficult problems. Her fee is more than reasonable for the service she provides.

My son actually understands the information. He hated math but he learned what he needed to learn. Nicole has really good people skills and she was able to help my son understand. She showed him real world applications which I think is the best.
