I purchased a  Groupon for the Spring Green up and called the company to schedule the appointment.  Desiree on the phone was cordial and helpful while scheduling.  She told me if my yard was larger than 2000 sq feet I could choose to only have part of it done, or pay an extra fee for the whole yard.  I told her I didn't know exactly how big it was and she indicated they would let me know on the day of the service.  On the day of the service I was home working in the back yard.  They arrived and began power raking, mowing and aerating.  They completed the entire back yard and had already power raked, mowed and was almost done aerating the front yard when Desiree called to tell me that my yard was bigger than 2000 sq feet and did I want them to skip the front yard..  I told her they were already almost done with the front yard so I guess they should finish it as I didn't want it left not finished.  Not one time did either of the men working in the yard tell me it was over the size limit and I was outside the whole time.  After I thought about it, I called Desiree back and told her I didn't like how this all happened, That had I been asked before the service started, I would not have had them do the front yard and they should have waited for approval before going ahead. I said I didn't appreciate having to pay for the service. She told me the "honorable" thing to do is to pay for the service since I had received it.  I told her the "responsible" thing to do would have been to ask me before starting the service and then expecting me to pay for it.  I told her I was in the yard the whole time and no one told me that my yard was too big before starting.  She explained " They don't usually communicate with the customer".   After hanging up the phone, I went outside and looked at the work, It was mowed so unevenly I had to get out my own mower and do it again.  The big wheels on the power raker/mower just flattened down the grass and when it sprung back up, there were rows of grass that  were not mowed because he did not overlap his rows.  The machine was also too big to allow them to get around the edges of the yard and I had to redo that as well.  For many reasons I will not use this company again.
