From start to finish Tom was a pro all the way through.

My real estate agent met Tom for the first appointment only to find that the basement entrance has a separate key that was not provided.  He agreed to return for a 2nd appointment when the agent got the key at no additional charge.  He did a very thorough inspection and delivered a report with photos showing areas that needed attention.

I spent quite a long time talking with him about potential renovations and recommended a general contractor and a structural engineer.  Tom also sends out a monthly newsletter.

The first home was a pretty new home, so he didn't find much wrong (which was good), but he did take the time to go over the home's systems and details with us, and he produced a very nice report which he delivered right on the spot.  (He prints it right in his van.)

The second home was a bit older with a few minor issues, and again he showed us the various things we'd need to know and produced a good report.

I marked him down to a 'B' in quality only by comparison to a couple other home inspection reports I've seen.  Tom uses stock software to produce his reports, and that's great.  But friends showed me reports by people who write them "from scratch," including a customized "home maintenance" section with pictures of your water heater, furnace, etc., and instructions on what to do when.  Tom includes a very generic "things in your house needing routine maintenance" section.  For that difference, I gave him a B.

He took his time and he gave us really important information regarding the home.  He took pictures and he printed them off right there and gave us a binder with all the information, including what to turn off in case of emergency with pictures of it, so we can refer to it later.  He was excellent and very thorough.  He answered all our questions.  I would recommend him to anyone.

Tom showed up on time with all the tools he needed to complete the inspection. He was very thorough and provided us a very detailed and professional looking report that we could show to potential buyers. He has been in the construction business for a long time and, when we had questions provided suggestions for remediating a few issues. He's very personable, professional and honest. I would strongly recommend him.
