The Woodlands Home-Pro
About us
Hello Colorado Springs, and surrounding area's, My lovely wife and I stand in "absolute amazement!" of the breath taking beauty that surrounds us here in Colorado Springs. We recently decided to relocate our family and business from Houston Texas to Colorado to begin laying the foundation for our retirement years. I've been in the home improvement industry for over thirty years improving family's most valuable asset, their homes! It's now time to "go there on that beautiful mountain" and build a home of our own. While we are new to the Colorado Springs area, we are not new to the home improvement industry. We have been an Angie's list provider since 2010 providing the highest quality of professional services in a wide range of home maintenance and improvement services. In 2012 we developed with Angie's list, and launched our most popular service "Handyman for a day". This service gives home owner's an opportunity to get a variety of things done around the house at an affordable cost, while getting to know and developing trust with a reliable service provider. My father once told me, "Son, find something in this life that you love doing, and do it! Success and happiness in business and family will follow". No, I've not made a fortune! However, In 2012, we were fortunate enough to achieve the Angie's List Super service award for quality of service (thanks dad!). The Character of a man or woman will define his, or her destiny. We are not a commercial experience, we are a personal experience! From concept to completion, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of professional service in the industry. As a seasoned professional and master craftsman, I can take the stress and worry out of wondering if your project goals will be achieved professionally, on time, and at an affordable cost.

He cut a piece off my kitchen wall to use for a color sample, but it was unusable. I called the builder and located the paint. (This has not been repaired; there is a 4x8" patch there.)
He painted the rooms, and seemed to do a good job. He then offered to do the three bedrooms for $700 if I bought the paint. I agreed. He finished the main painting on February 25th, and said to send him a list with the things he needed to finish or touch up. He said he had a kitchen to remodel and it would take several weeks. I sent him a list saying the paint did not cover where the wallpaper borders had been, that the ceilings have dark areas where he sprayed the wallpaper remover, that there is a large section of wall that was textured but not painted, and that he left a 4x8" patch where he cut off the piece, but never finished sanding or painting it.
I sent 5 emails and left one phone message over a period of 5-1/2 weeks, asking him to please schedule a date to come do the things he left unfinished. I said repeatedly that I didn't care how far out the date was, but I wanted to get it on the calendar. Finally he emailed on April 4th and said he was busy and told me to pay another painter to do the work he left undone.
Dan had told me he moved here with practically nothing, and that he and his wife were struggling, and that they had to sue a local grocery store when his wife slipped on the ice in their parking lot because she had no insurance. He wanted my living room furniture. I gave him the couch free and he offered $100 for the other two pieces. He took the couch and chair, and was going to get the loveseat when he returned to finish. Today he told me to hire someone else to finish the job, and he said to use the value of the loveseat to pay a new painter.
"We do appreciate the wonderful feedback. It was my pleasure to provide the service. Please don't hesitate to call, if you need us again! Kind regards, Dan Moore The Woodlands Home Pro"
I'm very satisfied. The provider made sure that my carpet and furniture was covered and did an excellent job with the painting.
It looks so nice and neat. I would definetly hire them again.
He did such a good job that I asked him back to completely paid the high walls of the room and the hall way which consisted of a stairway. Many of the walls had the ceiling bubbles on them from previous paintings, too. I had to buy three more gallons of paid because I wanted a satin finish to the walls. When Dan was through painting the bubbles were gone and he also finished a window sill that was really cracked.
The detailing and extras really made me glad to have asked Dan to come back and complete the job.
Dan Moore contacted me immediately upon my purchasing the Deal of the Day, ($199 for 6 hours of painting) and within 2 days was at my home completing the work. As soon as he arrived, he quickly began setting up / prepping the job. After the prep was complete, Dan began the caulking / painting and even told me the 6 hours would not start until he finished all the set up / prep -- wow! He worked steadily, thoroughly and carefully throughout the day. He was extremely professional and conscientious while he worked, cheerfully guiding us if we had questions. We were so impressed with him that we asked him to return the following Monday to complete another paint job on the front of the house. When he departed both afternoons, he ensured the area was clean and in order -- not a drop of unwanted painted to be found! The paint job is absolutely beautiful -- precise lines and perfect coverage!
It was very clear to us that The Woodlands Home-Pro takes great pride in his work. His main objectives are to do excellent work and have satisfied & happy customers. Objectives met...and job very well done. Thank you, Dan!
"Thank you [removed member name] for your wonderful comments. It was our pleasure to work with you and your family on this project. It's folks like you that has brought us to this beautiful city. Our goal was to improve the quality of your life by improving your most valuable asset, your home! We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with you, and we will look forward to any future home improvement projects you might have. Dan Moore Project Manager The Woodlands Home Pro"
For the exterior of my home, he powerwashed the patios/porches, driveway, sidewalk and the house. The wood around my bedroom windows on the back of my house were rotting and peeling, Dan replaced the trim with hardiplank so it would last longer. There were also a few hardiplank boards as well that were damaged on the back of the house and he replaced those too. He replaced all the other facia boards that were old/rotten, recaulked the entire exterior (windows, doors, etc.), and painted.
Dan is very respectful of the comfort of my family when he is done working for the day - he picks up and puts the house back to a living condition each day...no matter how many times he's going to come back to complete the job.
My home has been transformed to 2014 thanks to this man and his talent! I'm working on my next list of things I'd like for him to take care of!
(5) the paint work is horrid. primer has bleed over to walls that were previously painted (he said he would fix, but quit instead)He was hired to remodel our kitchen. Paint cabinets, tile floor, install new doors, paint walls, and install back splash. Every single item has major defects or is unfinished. He quit the job, so now we have an unfinished but paid for kitchen. I have pictures and documents to provide full evidence of this nightmare. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY HIS "PROFESSIONAL" ATTITUDE.
I have sent a letter to him requesting he finish the work he was paid for and to remedy the items that are subpar. I have received no response. We feel completely robbed and taken advantage of, this is the contractor nightmare you all have heard about. He knows about the mistakes, poor work and major defects and promised he would take care of, but just quit when I finally questioned him about his lies and misleading information about the kitchen project. He told me halfway through the job that he had under bid it, because he had only budgeted for 1 day of removing old flooring and it took him 3 days. He also told us his reason for quitting was because he has basically under bid the job and just had to know when to walk away. Keep in mind we added no additional work to the bid, or asked for additional work aside from bid. Everything was black and white up front, I say this because of his lack of kitchen remodel experience is the reason why he under bid the job
(1) he grouted entire floor with wrong color (knowingly) I helped to scrape out the grout AND had to buy the tools to do it because he didn't have any more money. He charged me extra labor for the grout mistake and took the tools I had bought.
(2) grout is already falling out of back splash & water proof sealant around sink back splash never used (as promised)
(3) cabinet doors are not installed nor are hinges attached, doors are not just piled up in our house.
(4) both of our custom ordered doors (laundry room and pantry) have been majorly damaged during installation ( he knows)
(4) none of the items removed such as blinds, shelf's, door stops, or light fixtures are reinstalled
(6) he got paint on our stove
(7) he was paid an EXTRA 300.00 to buy wood and install trim wood around a fir down, he never did this and basically just took the money and spent it. (this was already paid for in the original bid)
(8) he damaged trim boards in our dining room by placing painters tape on them, which removed the finish
(9) the laundry room door does not shut properly (he pointed this out and promised to fix it, but quit instead)
(10) paint brush marks on cabinet bases, he was supposed to spray not brush.
(11) he painted the quarter round below cabinets after it was installed, which resulted in massive amounts of paint on our newly installed tile floor, he promised to come back and remove the paint (he quit instead)
Dan mislead his ability and skills to remodel a kitchen, but was all to willing to take our money. He quit after he "suddenly realized" that he could not find hinges for a cabinet doors. he quit via email. He makes a lot of excuses for his poor time management, lack of skill and lack of tools.
He brings his wife Connie to work with him, she shows up in high heels.
"It simply amazes me what gets posted in these review's with-out proper evidence to support a member's claims. We were the second service provider to work on this kitchen. I'm always reluctant to take on project's where a previous contractor is having problems. We did so because we had compassion for this member's situation. I will simply state that the content of this review is inaccurate and false. We have been working for this member on her kitchen for almost two month's. If our services were so bad, why weren't we fired like the first contractor. We have also been referred to other home owner's by this member. We started having problems when this member began insisting on us to perform services that were not included in our original agreement. I'm always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy a customer's request and needs. However, when a customer looses site of professionalism and personal respect towards other's, we must draw the line somewhere! We did not quit! It is my assessment that this project was brought to approx. 98% complete, prior to having problems with the quality of our services. We were forced to terminate our work relationship when we began receiving emails containing personal slander and condemnation towards us in general, not our work! My wife did visit the project to see the amazing transition of this kitchen. I'm sorry if this member did not like her shoes. I can please some people, most of the time; However, I can't please all of the people, all of the time."
