We were training a few new office staff and they weren’t quite ready to handle your account and resolve the problem. We had a driver issue that could have been taken care of by getting the route supervisor involved. I really want apologize to you for the trouble you had with our trash service. Friday had an inch of snow with ice so the trash pick up was not done. Their large recycle truck did pick up on our street, but the trash truck could not come. I called the company and was told on Friday that a smaller truck was helping the driver and it should come by IF not then on Monday it would be picked up. Well today, Monday I call and they said they only send smaller truck on Tuesdays to pick up streets that were not done. I was told I had to call to get on the schedule for pick up. I ASSUMED the driver would tell the company the streets he DID NOT DO as they would automatically be put on the pick up list for the next week. Also since I spoke with them on Friday and they new what was going on I should have been put on their pick up list/
We have been with Springs Waste for many years and it seems ever winter it gets worse on garbage pick up in the winter.
Other trucks go up and down our street so I do not know why Springs Waste's trucks cannot do the same. Can't they put chains on them?? Anyway when I called today the girl said on Friday I was given wrong information on how missed pick ups were handled.
We usually call every winter, last winter asked for a manager to call back and never did. The girl I spoke with on Friday told me I can look at other carriers if I want. Wendy who I spoke with on Monday did not say that, she only told me I was given wrong information on Friday. I do not understand why the driver cannot make note of missed streets and why it is up to the customer to keep calling them. I guess being Friday pick ups is not good because your garbage sits over the weekend until the following Tuesday. My husband is disabled so I am the one to put trash can out. To bring it up and down the driveway is a choir on a senior citizen and to leave it on the curb you just are not sure if it will be knocked over. Good thing it isn't bear season or there is not way I could bring the can up and down wondering what day they might come. Both of our children have Springs Waste and told us to try them. They have not have this issue. I guess you have to live on a flat street in Colorado Springs to get winter pick up! There are many worse streets in Colorado Springs then ours wonder who gets their trash?
The price is what has kept us using Springs Waste but we will see if the frustration and wrong information always given us out weighs the price.
"Dear customer, I wanted to first apologize for the inconvenience. I really understand how frustrating it can be when your trash does not get picked up on the regular scheduled pick up day. If one of our customers is missed for any reason, we do have a set schedule to send a driver back to that specific area on a different day. We do give our customer a day or two to call in and notify the office of the problem so we may correct it. It sounds like there was a bit of mis communication regarding the day we go back to your area for any missed service corrections. I, again, would like to apologize for that. We do leave it up to our drivers to make good judgment calls when it comes to the snow and ice packed road ways. Some of our driver are very experienced and don’t have a problem driving in winter weather conditions and some of our driver are very experienced but are a little leery driving in winter weather conditions. We do equip all of our trucks with chains and ice melt to help the driver complete the entire route. However, there are times we are unable to pick up due to inclement weather. In the event we are unable to pick up the trash for any reason, we will happily return to make the correction."

Then one day, I came home from work to find yard waste scattered all over my driveway. At first I could not figure out how all this mess occurred, I thought it was a prank from the neighborhood kids. I went inside to get my camera to take pictures of the mess, and once inside my son informed me the trash company had made the mess in the driveway. He had taken it upon himself to put the yard waste I asked him to pick up into the garbage bins. The driver picking up the trash then not only did not take the yard waste, nor did he leave it in place and have the office contact me, he tore all the waste out of the bins leaving it scattered over my driveway.
I was so furious with the service, I took my pictures, and emailed the office and told them I wanted to cancel. The response I got was "So sorry to hear that, we will be out to get your cans next week". They did refund me the difference of the service not performed.
Too many trash services in this city to have to deal with a company such as this one. If you follow their rules to the letter, things are just fine.
I will never recommend this service to anyone.

The only explanation I can offer is a bag filled with yard waste can tear very easily. I can only assume that is what happened. Our drivers are instructed by management to clean any mess and to notify the office of such incidents. We should have tried to repair the relationship before canceling service, since it sounded like you were happy with the service. I again apologize for the inconvenience and please don’t hesitate to call us if we can be further assistance."

In regards to the cans being left in the driveway, our system is automated and the cans get moved around with the automated arm that picks up the trash. However, we are very proactive in resolving such issues. We appreciate your business and your review."
