SIGHT SOUND & SECURITY

When we built a home in 2013 with Saddletree homes we had a very large budget for home security and AV wiring from Site Sound and Security. When I met with Carl he expressed surprise at how large our budget was and told me we could afford pretty much whatever we wanted. Following this first meeting I received a bid from Carl which was more than twice our budget and I wasn't really asking for anything that special. After I told Carl that this was beyond our budget and to take out all the home security wiring from the bid and just install the AV portion to stay within it our budget Carl became impossible to get in touch with. I finally resorted to communicating through Saddletree homes as Carl would not respond to both calls and emails. We finally received our AV install for twice what it normally would cost according to other installers I've spoken with. Part of the package from our builder was a 2Gig home security and control unit, several modules for controlling lights, a compatible thermostat and one year of monitoring from Sight Sound and Security. Unfortunately after the first year was up Carl the owner of Sight Sound & Security refused to give us access to the unit anymore and will not return calls or emails. Saddletree attempted to have him contact us but pretty much told us to give up. So Saddletree gives you the basic unit and some control modules but unless you continue to pay Sight Sound and Security it's useless as Carl locks out the system with an installer code and won't change it. The last email I sent Carl was nearly a year ago and I promised him if he did not give us access to the unit which we own I would write an honest review of his business so that others could avoid him and his unethical business practices. Here then is my review. Buyer beware and if you're smart you'll look elsewhere for your home security and AV needs.
