On the day they were laying out the forms the franchise owner, Michael Frazier, said he'd add a 4" lip to the slab for exterior metal and help shed water. I told him we just need to 30x40 dimension. He assured me it would work fine! When his crew had laid out the forms 30'8"x 40'8" the footer moved out to the edge with it. It was not just a 4" lip 6" thick. This meant that the posts for the steel building would only have 8" to sit on and get bolted to instead of 12". Plus he did not lay out the forms 10' from a large tree as agreed, he placed it only 5' away. Michael Frazier refused to correct his mistakes. Instead, this week he sent a new contract for $3466.00 more than the first which again required half up front!
Description of Work: 30'x40' slab 6" thick with 12"x12" footer for steel building on a level site.

This is the second job we hired John to do. The first was outstanding, so we were happy to hire him for the second job. The concrete work on the second job was again very good. However, we asked the workers to leave some of the excavated dirt so we could use it to put around the concrete (the yard slopes) and they did, but they poured and buried all the excess concrete in the dirt, making it unusable for the yard. Now, I have a huge pile of concrete and dirt mixed that I need to get rid of. then I'll still need to get more dirt that I can plant some grass in.

Work went well and driveway is beautiful, only concern was workers walking on perennial plants and piling dirt in the perennial garden during the work.

John came to my house more than once to lay out a plan for the work needed to be done and to give me an estimate. I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism and told him he was hired. We would sign a contract the day work began and it was set for mid-May. The project got rained out so i suggested that we set another date for the work, telling him I would go by his work schedule since I'm home all the time.. I didn't hear back from John so contacted him via email, saying that if I didn't hear from him soon, I would have to hire another company. No response. So much for professionalism. I guess his company is doing so well that he changed his mind about doing my job. It's rude to leave a client hanging. If he had a reason for not being able to do my project, I would have accepted that but I was completely blown off. The project is still not done and will wait until next year when I hope to be more successful with another "professional" company.
Description of Work: Gave me an estimate and set a date for the completion of the work. Then nothing happened after that. Silence. Nada.

A concrete driveway was installed in July 2014 and was supposed to be graded away from the home for drainage. Instead the driveway sloped toward the house. Ponding of water due to poor slope and large indentations in the concrete surface resulted in the driveway being solid ice during the winter, and no salt could be used as that would have"voided the warranty" and it was expected they would return to repair/replace it. When rains began in 2015, the water drained toward the house and into the basement several times. The company was made aware of drainage issues in late July of 2014 and has failed to make repairs to the present time, August 2015. Photos and videos have been sent to the owner John Bandock, and he and his company will not return phone calls. They also failed to install a conduit under the concrete for wiring. After installation in July 2014, it was noted that the sprinkler system (that was clearly marked prior to the job) had been damaged by lacerations in five places and the cap to the City of Colorado Springs water pipe had been cut. John Bandock, the owner said they couldn't have damaged these items and refused to repair them. The company also failed to do appropriate clean up after the job. Through July 2015, we have made many phone calls, left messages, texts, and emails to this company which has several numbers in Denver and Colorado Springs through July and have NOT heard back from them. This company is the worst of the worst!!!!!
Description of Work: Horrible job. Failed to honor 1 year warranty.

Guys came in and created the form on one day with rebar and poured the next day with a two day set for the concrete and then removed the forms. My wife and I will hire them again for another project in the backyard later in the summer. Good quality work for a great price.

Description of Work: I did not go too well. I was really pleased to stumble upon Sam the Concrete Man pouring a patio just a few house away. I wanted a walkway installed from the curb to the sidewalk, not a huge job, so I figured the work would be a welcome and close addition to what they were already doing, and convenient for them - approx. 120 Sq. feet and stamped. John, the owner, made it happen as the concrete truck would also already be nearby and his workers too. Although the price seemed a bit high, I was O.K. with it as it was less than having pavers installed. I arrived home to find that the concrete had been poured contrary to what John and I discussed as to the slope and border - completely opposite as it were. I immediately contacted John, who called back and said there had been a misunderstanding and mis-communication between him and his laborers. Not my fault, and he offered to tear it all out and start over or leave it as is. Since I could not handle another concrete tear out and job and could not be here to personally supervise it, I decided to let it stay as is. I received no discount for doing this nor " we appreciate your understanding and doing this to save everybody the extra labor and costs"... and I was required to pay the original price of $975. No discount for my allowing the their mistake to stay "as is." I inquired about an Angie's List coupon or discount - John said there was none at this "high concrete season." When I inquired about "sealing" the final product, I was told that that is an additional charge that had not been part of the "verbal" contract. John was nice enough to stop back by and put one coat of sealer on the concrete at no charge. I put a second coat on myself. I was told that I would receive an emailed Paid invoice. After 2 or 3 requests, and nearly a month later, I finally received one after a 3rd request. As with so many contractors, they seem to be trying to complete many jobs at the same time and due to poor communication and lack of on-site supervision of their laborers, the job is not completed to the home-owner's satisfaction. I'll look elsewhere in the future for my concrete construction needs. I do need an addition to my back patio, but it won't be these guys.

Description of Work: John was very responsive from the first inquiry until conclusion. I was very pleased with our interactions and his attentiveness to my goals and ideas for the project. It was a small concrete patio extension in a HOA governed condominium community. It was completed in a timely manner with cleanup at the end of each work day. The finished product had to match existing finishes in the area and it met that goal with excellence. They protected existing building structures, grounds and the in-ground irrigation system. I could not be happier with the finished product and would recommend John and his crew without hesitation.

I had an existing slab of 100 sq ft I want expanded to about 350 sq ft. John came out to give me a bid. I called to get the work scheduled and was told they could start in a week. They called at the beginning of that week to say they could start 2 days earlier. The crew that came out to do the form and tie in to the existing patio were very professional. 2 days later they came to pour the concrete. They worked efficiently and the work done looks beautiful. John came back out to make sure I was 100% happy with the work that was done and to ensure the clean up was up to my standards. Extrememly professional and prompt. If my calls were not answered right away I received call backs within a few hours. Work was done ahead of schedule and finished within 2 days. couldn't be happier.

Provider did everything they stated they would do in the written proposal. On the first day spent on preparation, they arrived 20 minutes ahead of their stated arrival time, and by the time I came home from work in the afternoon, all of the subgrade preparation was completed. I was able to visually see that what they promised in their proposal was in fact reality, before the concrete was layed the following afternoon. They even matched the control joints of the new drive with the existing ones of the old drive. At the end of the job, the provider cleaned up residual mess as promised. I would not hesitate to use this provider again. They provided quality, professional work at a cost that was several hundreds of dollars below other estimates/proposals.
Description of Work: Provider installed a new side driveway (third drive) of approximately 308 square feet. They removed and disposed of the existing sod and bush. Performed subgrade preparation. Installed 4 inches of 4,000-psi concrete reinforced with 3/8 inch rebar every 24 inches set on Adobe blocks. Doweled 14.0 rods into the foundation with 3/8 inch rebar dowels. Finish was brushed with control joints spaced at 8 feet or less each way.
