Called Rooter town, had a technician to the house within an hour. I Had a bad return valve that caused the water to raise up and semi flood part of my basement area. Technician was awesome, his name was Calvin. Very knowledgeable, took care of everything and was absolutely professional.

Do not call these guys, get a second opinion. I have never had any problems until magically I needed another drain built into my house. This project ended up to be a $5400.00 bill, and could not afford it, but, conveniently, the salesman was more than willing to set me up an account with Wells Fargo, in which I had no choice. I am a senior, living on a fixed income was not offered any discounts, just one big headache! They tore apart my deck and did not repair it also!

Cabling the main line, $95 Locating the blockage, $250 Those charges, we were told, would be deducted from the cost of the further service (they weren't). Step 3, excavating and replacing sewer line, etc. cost $5250. At this point, we would have hired another company, but felt hooked due to the big hole in the front yard. Steps 4 and 5 added $14,000 to the cost! We were later told by a company we hired to replace a water line that they would've completed this whole job at half the cost. But besides the massive overcharge, the job was damaging to our property in other ways. After they said all was done and I could use the water, the first load of laundry flooded the upstairs and into the downstairs. It turns out they had bypassed one of the drains. They had to cut a 5' X 3' hole in the utility room floor to correct the problem. When the hole was being re-cemented, they didn't cover protect surrounding surfaces, splotching 4' X 2' of gray permanent yuck on a beautiful new pine door and also the wall and appliances. Insurance paid to dry the flooded spaces, but Rooter Town didn't reimburse us for our deductible despite this being their error. The excavation was not filled in sufficiently and there was no follow-up to level out the sinkage.

One job on top of the other, each adding to the cost. A previous plumber who cleared our line years ago had offered to install perma line, but said they would credit the current charges to the liner work (we chose not to line at that time and it was fine for 8 years.) A subsequent plumber told us that we were overcharged for the complete job by 200% The cost of the liner and labor had not been separated, but both it seems both were inflated.
Once the first part of the job was negotiated and completed at a reasonable cost ($345), it seemed unnecessary to call for another estimate, especially after the crew who did the second part of the work had already opened a pit in our front yard (at an additional cost of $5,250, it seemed like "in for a penny, in for a pound.) We should definitely have checked with another plumber when told the cost of the last portion of the work ($14,000).
While the first part of the job was being done, the plumber invited his brother (not a plumber) to come over for an unrelated reason of his own. The brother spoke behind a door, impinging my reputation as a military intelligence soldier!
At the end of the job, after they told us we could begin doing laundry, we discovered the liner had been shot too far and had blocked the pipe from the kitchen, causing a flood in both the kitchen and the rooms below! They had to get to that pipe by jack hammer, making an additional hole in my utility room. The work left large permanent gray splotches on our knotty pine door from the cement they used to fill the hole with no attempt made to avoid or clean up the mess while still wet.The crew did fix their mistake at no further cost, but told us that if they had known about the other pipe connection, they would have still had to do that work but the total for the complete work would have been $695 more!
The first job, with the unsuccessful clearing of course had no warranty,
The second job's drain service had a 30 day warranty and the excavation and repair had a 1 year warranty.
The third job's excavation and repair was warranted for one year.
The liner, we were told, "should last 50 years" but there was no documentation provided.
We were able to negotiate half the cost with our own bank, but the remaining cost was covered using a credit agreement that they brought along with Wells Fargo  at a 12.9 % interest rate. The next plumber we used (Mr. Rooter) for a different job (water line) was able to get that credit with the same banker (Wells Fargo) at 6.9% leaving me to wonder if even the credit arrangements made by Rootertown were an overcharge.
Suffice it to say, we warn others to avoid this company.

The plumber told me I needed a new sump pump, because the motor was burned out. The quote was $900. When I was shocked about the price, he lowered the price to $800. The plumber also told me I would need and electrician to wire in the new sump pump. I did not hire the plumber and I paid him $95 for coming out. When I called another plumber for a second opinion, the plumber unclogged my sump pump and  tested the pump to see if it worked, which the first plumber did not do. The total bill was $86. The second opinion plumber said if I needed a new sump pump, they could wire it in and I would not need to call an electrician. I saved a lot of money getting a second opinion.

We didn’t have anybody that ever worked on our hot water heater, so our neighbor recommended them. They had a plumber come out right away. The price was for him to come within 2-3 hours on a weekend, do an estimate, repair it right there, and for parts and labor. He was very polite and very informative. He diagnosed the situation. He explained what happened and why it happened. Everything was cleaned up nicely. He was a very nice person. With regard to price, I feel like that was a quite a bit of money, but then again I don’t know if that's normal.

We called Rooter Town out to check the pressure in our pipes because we knew a regulator was broken in our home.  We also wanted to scope a drain out and have it installed in our laundry room.  Upon scoping, they found a bunch of roots in the old clay sewage pipe that ran from our home to the sewer.  We knew we needed to do something quickly to avoid a backup, but we definitely needed a second opinion!  They did all the services we agreed upon, but it cost us a fortune for peace of mind.  We also asked them upon final payment for their services about the PSI in our pipes... turns out both of our regulators were bad, and they only installed one new one.  They didn't even bother checking the PSI until I asked them... and it was at street pressure.  When they tried to adjust the house pressure regulator, it didn't work.  You would think that would've been the FIRST thing they would check since that was what the initial service call was about.  We learned our lesson: free inspections aren't always worth it - and always get a second opinion.
